Abstract: A tie having a receptacle with an aperture there through, a lower edge of which includes at least one or more saw teeth or the like members which can engage with similar saw teeth members on the underside of a free end of the tie as it passes through the aperture, which lower edge is parallel to the surface of the body of the tie so that the free end, on connection, lies effectively on the periphery of the tie. The free end of the tie may be positively directed downwards towards the body of the tie as it passes through the receptacle by the provision of an upper inner curved surface within the aperture in the receptacle.
