Patent number: 6598301Abstract: A razor blade tool relating to overcoming single use shortcomings of current utility knives allows a user to select multiple razor blade positions. Each razor blade position allows a razor blade tool to be utilized for a different purpose, such as scraping, case cutting, twine cutting, and as a knife. Additional razor blades are stored in a razor blade tool in a manner that prevents the sharpened edges of razor blades from contacting side-walls of the storage area so that stored razor blades remain sharp and undamaged.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2001Date of Patent: July 29, 2003Assignee: American Safety Razor CompanyInventors: Gregory F. McCool, Jeffrey Wonderley, Dave McDonald, Eric Litscher, John DePiano, Roy Heinz, Will Wear

Patent number: 6568084Abstract: A razor blade cartridge is disclosed for wet shaving. The razor blade cartridge includes a platform member having a blade seat and a guard member. A plurality of first guard ribs are disposed on the platform member, and a first blade is disposed on the blade seat. A spacer is disposed on the first blade, and a plurality of second guard ribs is disposed on the spacer. A second blade is disposed on the spacer, and a cap member is disposed on the second blade. A plurality of third guard ribs is disposed on the cap member proximate the skin engaging edge of the second blade. The first, second and third guard ribs are arranged in a number of shapes and positions relative to each other, which assist the shaver in controlling blade exposure and shaving angle. Typically, the blade exposure is positive at the trough portion between the guard ribs, and negative at the tip portion an a shaving plane on skin engaging portion of the guard ribs.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2001Date of Patent: May 27, 2003Assignee: American Safety Razor CompanyInventors: Gregory F. Patent number: 6070724Abstract: In order to depict features such as pivoting and/or the flexure of elements of an article or articles which are enclosed within a package, at least one holographic generating layer is disposed on the package to provide an enlarged highlighted view of a portion of an image which is printed on the surface of the package. In accordance with the invention, it is also possible to have two holographic image generating layers overlaid one on the other and adhered to the surface of a package. The outer layer permit the images produced by the underlying layer to be also viewed, although at different angles from the images produced by the upper or outer layer. This permits the simulation of different movements which are exhibited by the article or articles enclosed within the package.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 1999Date of Patent: June 6, 2000Assignee: American Safety RazorInventor: Gregory F. Patent number: 5674234Abstract: A flexible surgical razor for removing organic tissue, such as lesions, moles, corns and the like, at or below the skin's surface. The surgical razor utilizes a flexible blade with a well-honed front edge and left and right gripping extensions formed attached to the left and right side edges of the blade, respectively. Each gripping extension includes an inner segment extending in the same plane as the blade, a middle segment extending at an upward angle away from the plane of the blade, and an exterior segment, with exterior gripping edges, extending at an intersecting angle with the middle segment. The gripping edges include a plurality of teeth in rows asymmetrically angled to the plane of the flexible blade for full and complete control of blade flexing. A flexible sheath is added to regulate the shape and extent of the blade's curvature. The user applies inward finger pressure to both gripping extensions simultaneously which bends the flexible blade in a curved fashion.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 1995Date of Patent: October 7, 1997Assignee: American Safety Razor CompanyInventors: Gregory F. McCool, Jeffrey W. Wonderley, Robert J. Segal
