Abstract: An electronic device stand comprises mechanically coupled first and second members. The stand is couplable to an edge of an electronic device. The first and second members rotate relative to each other, thus changing a viewing angle for the electronic device. The stand transmits data and power to and/or from the electronic device. This can allow the stand to be used to synchronize data between the electronic device and a support device. In some cases, the stand is detected as being coupled to the electronic device, and one or more applications are executed on the device as a result of the detection.

Abstract: Keyboard input functionality is provided when a removable portion of the keyboard is docked into the base unit. The removable portion may be the undocked from the base unit. A keyboard removable portion may include alphanumeric functionality and may be of a reduced size for off-desk implementation. Since the base of the keyboard may be wired, it may also charge the removable portion of the keyboard. The base may also include the wireless receiver for cooperating with a wireless keyboard or wireless mouse.

Abstract: A scanner device includes a body portion with an optical scanner module at a first forward end and having a keypad and display mounted on an upper surface. The handle portion extends from the body portion near the forward end and is oriented at a selected angle to cause a second rearward end of the bottom surface of the body portion to rest on the radial surface of a user's hand when a user grips the handle.

Abstract: A computer input device that comfortably supports the hand of the user while the thumb and fingers are associated with buttons, a trackball, and a scrolling wheel carried on the device. The overall configuration of the device and the arrangement of these actuators permit the user to easily and effectively operate all of the functions provided by the actuators while the hand and arm of the user are in a comfortable position. The device includes a housing having an asymmetrical dividing ridge forming a “thumb-side surface,” for placement of the thumb, and a “finger-side surface,” for placement of the remaining four fingers. The finger-side surface includes a ball rotatably mounted in the housing and further includes first and second input buttons disposed to the side of the ball which may be used as “forward” and “back” buttons. The first and second input buttons adjacent to the ball may be replaced by a linearly slidable or pivotally movable actuator.
