  • Publication number: 20100298740
Abstract: The present invention discloses a novel positioning unit configured in accordance with a recording matrix for ensuring correct and ergonomic positioning of a patient with respect to the recording matrix utilizing body landmarks such as spine and scapula. The technique of the present invention provides for supporting at least a region of the patient body in a desired position (e.g. on a patient bed) and positioning the regions of the patient body relative to the patient bed. The positioning unit allows repeated, precise supporting and positioning of a patient in a desired position with the patient being comfortably supported or fixed in this position, during the monitoring and diagnostic procedure, i.e. when the recording matrix is applied to the patient.

  • Publication number: 20090326418
Abstract: The invention provides a microphone matrix for recording body sounds, such as respiratory tract sounds. The matrix has a frame having one or more recesses or openings on one of its surfaces. A microphone assembly is disposed in each recess or opening in the frame. When a body portion is applied to the matrix, each microphone assembly moves from an extended, spring biased position in which at least a portion of the microphone assembly protrudes beyond the surface of the frame towards a retracted position in which the microphone assembly is deeper inside the recess.

  • Publication number: 20070213124
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention includes receiving a request for a cashout of a balance from a player. In response to receiving the cashout request, at least one benefit to offer is determined based upon the balance. A value of the benefit is greater than the cashout amount. An offer is provided to the player, which the player may accept in lieu of the cashout amount. In some embodiments, the player may accept the offer in lieu of a portion of the cashout amount or in addition to the cashout amount.

  • Publication number: 20070044238
Abstract: A posturing device for posturing an individual so as to render the individual's back accessible. The posturing device comprises a base and a spine support system. The spine support system may be, for example, a flexible chain that conforms to the spinal shape of the individual. The device may also include one or more back supports attached to the base where each back support is moveable from a first configuration in which the back supports are applied to the base, and the individual's back is exposed, except in the spinal region, and a second configuration in which the back supports form an angle with the base and provided support to the back. The device may be used in order to carry out a treatment of the individual's back or for applying one or more transducers, such as microphones, to the individual's back.

  • Patent number: 5437399
Abstract: A device for holding writing instruments has an elongated supporting member having a predetermined direction of elongation, a plurality of holding members arranged on the supporting member substantially side-by-side along the direction of elongation of the supporting member and each having at least one receptacle for receiving at least one writing instrument, each of the receptacles being elastically expandable so that a writing instrument can be introduced in the receptacle and then contractible so as to reliably retain the introduced writing instrument in the receptacle upon the contraction of the receptacle, the holding members being spaced from one another by a distance which is smaller than a size of each of the receptacles in the expanded position as considered in the direction of elongation of the supporting member, so that a writing instrument can be inserted into the receptacles but cannot be inserted into a space between the holding members.
