  • Patent number: 11972760
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to detecting the use of fake voice command to activate microphones of smart devices. In one embodiment, sound characteristics associated with an audio signal from a microphone of smart device may be compared with other microphones of the smart device in order to detect fake voice commands. In another embodiment, sound characteristics associated with the audio signal from the microphone may be compared with a threshold range of stored sound characteristics in order to detect fake voice commands. In some embodiments, a controller may triangulate a position associated with a source of a sound in order to detect a fake voice command. In a further embodiment, a controller may verify that a user or associated electronic device are near a smart device to authorize a voice command.

  • Publication number: 20230362420
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, identifying a threshold value of a streaming-media key performance indicator (KPI) based on a predetermined target portion of end-user devices that provide an acceptable performance. Performance records are obtained for a content delivery network (CDN) adapted to cache and serve media content requested by the end-user devices. Predicted values of the streaming-media KPI are generated according to the performance records of the CDN and compared to the threshold value of the streaming-media KPI to obtain a comparison. An anomaly is detected according to the comparison, to indicate that a predetermined number of the predicted values of the streaming-media KPI fail to satisfy the threshold value. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20220388258
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a repair apparatus, system, and method for a composite sandwich structure. The repair is suited for reinforcing a sandwich panel having a first sheet and a second sheet opposite the first sheet. A core is interposed between and coupled to the first sheet and the second sheet. The repair uses a potting compound packed into an abnormality of the core and located on the outer surface of the first sheet. A patch is coupled to the outer surface of the first sheet over the abnormality of the core and cured. The cured potting compound is interposed between and bonded to the patch and the abnormality of the core and bonded to the patch and the outer surface of the first sheet to form a structural reinforcement.

  • Publication number: 20220388259
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a repair apparatus, system, and method for structurally reinforcing an abnormal composite structural member. The repair is suited for reinforcing a cured composite structure that defines a strength tolerance and has an abnormality that reduces the structural strength relative to the strength tolerance of the cured composite. The structural reinforcement repairs the abnormality in the cured composite and provides the repair strength so that the repaired composite has a structural strength that meets or exceeds the strength tolerance. The structural reinforcement has a composite patch that is coupled to the cured composite over the abnormality and is covered by pressure-sensitive tape.

  • Patent number: 11478029
Abstract: The present invention is a manual non-mechanized device that consists of a base and a guide. This invention is a device that provides an expeditious method to invert or turn inside-out and to reform or turn glove appendages back to the proper side, that has numerous openings, one of which accepts a guide. The guide is defined as an asymmetrical cylinder having two (2) opposing ends. One end has a concave configuration and above and adjacent to the other end are a couple of grooves that circumscribe the guide with a couple of flexible elements fitted therein. The latter end is fitted into one of the openings in the base, to be securely mounted therein without using threaded means. The present invention facilitates efficient cleaning and/or rapid drying of the lining and quick reformation to the proper side with a proper fit. The main objective of the present invention is to promote healthy, morbidity free hands in the workplace and at home.

  • Patent number: 11426030
Abstract: A cooking system in the form of a fryer is provided to reduce and/or optimize the amount of cooking medium required to operate the fryer, while improving the reliability of movement of food product through the cooking system during a cooking process. To this end, the cooking vat of the system is designed with one or more heating elements positioned to avoid generation of turbulent flow in the cooking medium. Moreover, the movement of food product along the cooking vat and/or out of the cooking vat is done reliably and in such a manner to avoid turbulent flow in the cooking medium. The automatic cooking system provides improved cooking medium life span as well as reduced overall oil volume use.

  • Patent number: 11064043
Abstract: A cache server receives content and an instruction indicating an event associated with the content that causes a processor to invoke a call out to an adjunct device. The instruction further indicates an operation that the adjunct device is to perform. The cache server detects the event associated with the content, halts a flow of the content in response to detecting the event associated with the content, passes via the call out the content to the adjunct device to perform the operation, receives from the adjunct device a response and resulting data from the operation, and performs an additional operation on the resulting data based on the response from the adjunct device.

  • Patent number: 10812386
Abstract: A network is configured to utilize available bandwidth to conduct bulk data transfers without substantially affecting the successful transmission of time-sensitive traffic in the network. In order to avoid this interference, the packets carrying data for bulk data transfers are associated with a low priority class such that the routers of the network will preferentially drop these packets over packets associated with the normal traffic of the network. As such, when the normal traffic peaks or there are link failures or equipment failures, the normal traffic is preferentially transmitted over the bulk-transfer traffic and thus the bulk-transfer traffic dynamically adapts to changes in the available bandwidth of the network. Further, to reduce the impact of dropped packets for the bulk-transfer traffic, the packets of the bulk-transfer traffic are encoded at or near the source component using a loss-resistant transport protocol so that the dropped packets can be reproduced at a downstream link.
