  • Publication number: 20080248846
Abstract: A system and a method for conducting a wager, such as a lottery game or a pari-mutuel wager, is provided. In an exemplary embodiment, a series of at least four race events is identified. Each bettor is enabled to make a specified prediction pertaining to the outcome of each of the identified race events. For at least one race, the specified prediction includes an identification of the first four, five, six, or seven finishers in the correct order. For other races, the specified prediction may include an identification of the winner or of one of the first two, three, four, or five finishers. Each wager entry includes predictions for all of the identified race events. Winnings are allocated from a wager pool based on the wager entries having completely correct entries or entries that are correct for most of the race events.

  • Patent number: 7193985
Abstract: A system and methods are shown for providing Internet Protocol communication services to a mobile client. One method includes sending a registration request from a radio node to a control node responsive to detecting a mobile client in a service area of the radio node. When the control node receives the request from the radio node, the control node determines a foreign agent to provide communication services to the mobile client. In one embodiment, the control node determines the foreign agent based on a mobile client information record, a radio node record, and a plurality of foreign agent records associated with the radio node. In one embodiment, the control node may select a last serving foreign agent associated with the mobile client.

  • Patent number: 6956846
Abstract: A system and methods are shown for selecting a packet data serving node (PDSN) for a mobile node in a mobile Internet Protocol network. One method includes responsively to receiving on a first foreign agent control node (FACN) from a radio node a registration request message and determining that a mobile profile associated with a mobile node specified in the registration request is not available at the first FACN, sending from the first FACN to a second FACN a query request message including a request for the mobile profile. If the second FACN includes the requested mobile profile, the second FACN sends it to the first FACN using a query response message. When the first FACN receives the query response message, the first FACN makes a determination that the mobile profile includes a network address of the last serving PDSN.
