    Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosed technology comprise a vertical axis wind turbine with a generally cylindrical encasement or housing enclosing a portal opening into rotating cups (turbine blades), connected to a central spindle (turbine shaft), for electricity generation. A plurality of branches covering and spaced around a horizontal axis of, and attached to, the generally cylindrical encasement help hide the device from a casual viewer, and angled vanes at either side of the portal direct wind into the portal for greater efficiency.
