    Abstract: A carriage assembly for a continuous track drive system can include a plurality of road wheels, a pivotable idler wheel, a drive wheel, a continuous track extending around the plurality of road wheels, the pivotable idler wheel, and the drive wheel, and a tensioning system coupled to the idler wheel. The tensioning system can include an actuator and a biasing member. The tensioning system can be configured such that when the continuous track is driven in a first direction the actuator is inactive and the biasing member maintains tension in the continuous track, and when the continuous track is driven in a second direction the actuator is active and applies force to the pivotable idler wheel to maintain tension in the continuous track.
