  • Patent number: 5208096
Abstract: This invention relates to a single-sided cling stretch wrap film wherein the A layer exhibits a high cling force. The opposite surface is cling-free and is fabricated from a polyolefin having a MFR less than or equal to 10.0. A particularly preferred film is an A/B/C thermoplastic film of high tensile strength. Pallet loads overwrapped with the film are neither torn or destroyed when separated from each other. The cling-free layer may contain a medium or high density polyethylene. The productivity in the fabrication of the polyolefin film is improved by the use of medium or high density polyethylene.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 8, 1991
Date of Patent: May 4, 1993
    Assignee: Paragon Films Incorporated

  • Patent number: 5147709
Abstract: A stretch wrap multi-layer film having a sound dampening property wherein the sound dampening property is provided by a layer of ULDPE or LLDPE and high strength and puncture resistance are provided by a second layer containing a LLDPE. The neck in characteristic of linear polymers is overcome by blending into the second layer a minor amount of a non-linear LDPE.

  • Patent number: 5093188
Abstract: This invention relates to a single-sided cling stretch wrap film having an A/B/C structure. The surface of the A layer exhibits a high cling force to the surface of the B layer which has a high tensile strength. The surface of the C layer is cling-free. Pallet loads overwrapped with the film are neither torn or destroyed when separated from each other.

  • Patent number: 5085927
Abstract: An enhancement of the cling property of stretch wrap is obtained by adding a linear styrenic elastomer having a melt index between about 5 and about 10 g/10 mins to the cling layer of a film in addition to the usually added tackifiers. The invention enhanced cling layer films can be produced as A/B, A/B/A OR A/B/C films.

  • Patent number: 4680328
Abstract: An insect-resistant composition containing at least about 75 percent by weight of a polyethylene, e.g. LDPE, HDPE, or LLDPE, at least about 5 percent by weight, up to an amount approaching about 25 percent by weight of a compatability additive selected from chlorinated polyethylene and ethylene-n-butyl acrylate copolymer, and an insecticidally effective amount, up to about 8 weight percent, of an insecticide, e.g. halopyridyl phosphates. Optionally, the compatibility additive may include carbon black in an amount of about 0.5-7.5 percent by weight of the composition. The composition has utility in being formed into useful articles, especially in wire and cable applications, which are insect resistant substantially for the useful life of the articles.
