Abstract: An aircraft includes an aircraft body that retains gas that is lighter than air and rotates about a vertical axis, and a cargo carrier attached to the body so that the carrier does not rotate with the body. The aircraft includes one or more propulsion devices that cause the aircraft body to rotate and to move laterally through air. The propulsion devices use gas retained in the aircraft body as fuel. One or more wings may extend from the body, which control the vertical motion of the aircraft during travel. A computerized navigation system is provided with the aircraft to permit the aircraft to be preprogrammed to travel a desired travel path, or to permit the aircraft to be remote controlled. The electronic components of the aircraft are powered by one or more power supplies, which may also act as ballast weights to raise the center of gravity of the aircraft as it spins, and to maintain tension on the aircraft body as fuel is consumed.
