The method comprises steps of (a) preparing a solution of a base in water; (b) reacting said solution with stearic acid; (c) adding glycerol; (d) adding a borate; (e) adding a surface-active agent; (f) dispersing an organic residue within the mixture; and (g) reacting said organic residue until a homogeneous soap composition is obtained. A novel soap made by this process is also disclosed.
