  • Patent number: 6679618
Abstract: A light emitting diode warning lamp which meets selected Society of Automotive Engineers Standards. The invention comprises a housing, a printed circuit board secured within the housing, a plurality of light emitting diodes mounted to the printed circuit board and operatively arranged to produce light in substantially a 360° arc surrounding the housing in a horizontal plane, and a driving circuit operatively arranged to flash the plurality of light emitting diodes.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 10, 2000
Date of Patent: January 20, 2004
    Assignee: Truck Lite Co., Inc.
Inventors: Chris Allen Suckow, Gregory Pond, Philip C. Roller, Paul G. Sniegocki
  • Patent number: 6654172
Abstract: A tail/stop lamp assembly is disclosed that uses as a light source light emitting diodes, specifically SnapLEDs™. The tail/stop lamp assembly is composed of housing, a lens, and a SnapLED™ array. The lens is composed of six different optical units surrounded by Fresnel rings. The housing is of a very slim design. The combination of optics and housing is a stylish, sturdy and efficient tail/stop lamp assembly that complies with Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) standards.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6095663
Abstract: A light assembly, comprising a planar substrate containing a plurality of light sources mounted perpendicularly thereto, each of the light sources operatively arranged to emit light outwardly from the source at a solid first angle which is less than 2.pi. steradians, and, a light directing element mounted to the planar substrate and operatively arranged to direct the light emitted from each of the plurality of light sources into a beam which subtends from the source at a second angle which is greater than the first angle in at least two dimensions. In a preferred embodiment of the light assembly, the light directing element is a reflector. The light assembly of the subject invention is especially suited for use as combination of a truck clearance and marker light assembly.
