  • Publication number: 20170073062
Abstract: A variable geometry wingtip is comprised of two deformable yet relatively stiff airfoils (6, 7) that work in compression and tension against each other to change shape. There is only one moving part in the assembly (5) with no internal mechanisms to facilitate morphing. The wingtip (5) consists of a lower airfoil (7) and an upper airfoil. (6) The base of the lower airfoil (8) is mounted horizontally to an under surface (4) of an outboard end (2) of a wing. (1) The upper airfoil (6) has a portion (9) which is allowed to retract and extend from an upper surface (3) of the outboard end (2) of the wing. (1) A single projecting wingtip (11) is formed at an intersection (10) of the lower and upper airfoils.

  • Patent number: 6237486
Abstract: A screen-printing apparatus and method for printing skateboards, more particularly short boards. A multi-color press with UV cure stations between successive print heads and a system for transporting short boards to multiples of stations. The present invention uses a screen-printing process whereby; the screen is stationary, the squeegee is movable, and the short board rocks underneath the print head so that the surface during printing is always parallel to the screen. Compensation for the concave midsection is achieved by using a modified squeegee, which is able to change shape at the precise time.

  • Patent number: 5427024
Abstract: Provided is a method and apparatus for grasping, lifting, removing, and dropping a finish-printed product, for example, a T-shirt from a screen table which serves as a platform for the screen-printing process. The apparatus employs a gripping device which grips portions of a T-shirt that hang over opposite edges of the screen table. Once the T-shirt is gripped, it is lifted vertically from the printing platform, moved horizontally away from the printing platform, and then dropped, preferably, upon a conveyor dryer assembly.
