  • Publication number: 20080014818
Abstract: A method of treated a nonwoven substrate after the normal conversion process to generate modification to the Z dimension. The method can be accomplished either before or after placing the substrate in a consumer container. The method can be accomplished by the consumer. The treatment can be the application of heat to increase the thickness of the substrate. The result can be a product combination of a canister containing a roll of wipes where the thickness of the wipes is enhanced prior to loading with a cleaning formulation.

  • Publication number: 20080003914
Abstract: The present invention relates to a non-woven web comprising fibers and feathers for use as a substrate for cleaning articles. The non-woven web may be created using a variety of non-woven processing techniques and bonding treatments to bond the fibers. The non-woven web is made by combination of variety of fiber types and feathers in varying proportions which create non-woven webs with varying levels of loft, weight, tensile strength, absorbency and abrasiveness.

  • Patent number: 7285522
Abstract: The invention provides methods, compositions and kits for increasing the brightness retention of a fabric laundered using a hypohalite-generating bleach by employing an amount of bromide-releasing compound sufficient to provide between 0.1 to about 1.5 moles of bromine ion to mole of available chlorine in a wash liquor to mitigate the negative effects of said hypohalite bleach on the optical brightener present in either the wash liquor or on said fabric. The invention also applies to fabrics washed using commercial laundry detergents which typically deliver an optical brightener into said wash liquor, said optical brightener generally exhibiting instability in the presence of said hypohalite bleaches.

  • Patent number: 7144177
Abstract: A device dispenser for applying a thickened cleaning composition to a selected surface area that minimizes or eliminates any unintentional or excess application of the composition and/or minimizes or eliminates any spreading or wicking of the composition beyond the selected surface area after application. A dispensing device featuring the combination of a thickened cleaning composition having a specified rheology and dispenser with one or more orifices of preferred cross-sectional area that enable convenient application of a cleaning composition to the selected region of a soft or hard surface. Additionally, the dispensing device features cleaning compositions having preferred wicking rates with respect to the treated surfaces so that only the selected stained or soiled region of the surface is effectively treated, as the cleaning compositions will not spread or wick into adjacent regions of the surface where damage may occur.

  • Publication number: 20050166333
Abstract: A fabric treatment composition that includes at least one zeta potential modifier and a hydrophobic agent with a melting point or glass transition temperature below 100° C. that imparts fabric protection benefits, including improved stain resistance, oil repellency, water repellency, softness, wrinkle and damage resistance, and better handfeel to treated fabrics. Particularly preferred compositions include at least one zeta potential modifier in an amount sufficient to adjust the zeta potential of the composition to be positive and greater than zero millivolts. Particularly preferred compositions also include a fluoropolymer. The composition can be used as a pretreatment prior to washing, through soaking or direct spray application, or added to the wash or rinse cycle of an automatic washing machine, or used prior to or during the drying cycle of an automatic drying machine or refresher machine, or used prior to or in conjunction with an ironing device.
