  • Publication number: 20020171343
Abstract: A drawer for hanging file folders, which is formed from a drawer subassembly including an elongate drawer plank to which is attached, along a longitudinal edge thereof, an elongate plastic or metal support rail from which hanging file folders may be hung. The drawer subassembly is subsequently folded about a plurality of hinge portions therein which are common to the drawer plank and to the support rail, and a base panel is captured within the drawer subassembly as same is folded to define a drawer including a base panel surrounded by a plurality of vertical walls from which hanging file folders may be hung. The attachment of the support rail to the drawer plank prior to forming the hinge portions in the drawer subassembly and folding same to form the drawer obviates the need to separately attach multiple components of a file folder hanging structure to the drawer walls after the drawer is formed.

  • Patent number: 5810505
Abstract: A fastener assembly adapted for use with furniture components. The fastener assembly includes a generally tubular insert having two ends and threads on both its exterior and interior surfaces. The exterior threads of the insert engage a body, such as a planar panel, through which the insert extends. The insert is installed in the body whereby the interior threads of the insert are accessible from both ends of the insert. Threaded fasteners may then be attached to both ends of the insert to thereby secure objects to the body in which the insert has been installed. The threaded fasteners which may be used with the inserts include common bolts as well as grooved dowels which are enageable with a camming device.

  • Patent number: 5528997
Abstract: A folding table having a leg pivotally connected to the bottom surface having a locking mechanism including two pairs of linkage members attached to opposite sides of the leg. The two pairs of links allow a slight overrotation of the leg during its closing movement to thereby lock it in position. By the orientation of the links, a bias force is created to maintain the leg in a closed position. A resilient U-shaped spring clamp is attached to capture the leg in its closed position. A separate resilient locking latch engages the pivoting links when the leg is in its open, unfolded position.
