  • Patent number: 9440015
Abstract: A machine for extracorporeal blood treatment comprising a machine-side fluid circuit is disclosed. The machine comprises a heat exchanger for heating cold purification fluid freshly supplied on its intake side, for which purpose used still warm purification fluid flows past its opposite discharge side for a heat exchange, and a circulation valve for changing over between a blood purification mode in which the used purification fluid is disposed of in an open fluid circuit through the discharge side of the heat exchanger into a drain and a disinfection mode in which hot disinfectant is circulated in a closed circuit. The circulation valve is connected downstream of the heat exchanger with respect to the discharge side thereof.

  • Patent number: 7648476
Abstract: A blood treatment apparatus includes a controller and a supervisor, which together monitor various sensors. The controller is equipped with a first alarm system and the supervisor is equipped with a second alarm system. To avoid competition between both alarm systems, the alarm system of the supervisor normally remains mute. A function monitoring device monitors the function of the first alarm system and signals a missing alarm to the supervisor. Only in this case will the second alarm system of the supervisor be activated.

  • Publication number: 20050234381
Abstract: A medical instrument, in particular a machine for extracorporeal blood treatment, allows for execution of different programs with selectable program parameters. The medical instrument (11) comprises a read unit (14) which is capable of communicating with a transponder (15) carried along by the personnel. Said transponder (15) contains an identification (ID). In dependence on the identification, different access authorizations with regard to selecting programs and/or modifying program parameters are granted. In this manner, it is determined what settings and/or modifications may be carried out by the nursing personnel and what settings and/or modifications may be carried out by the technical service personnel.
