  • Patent number: 10024923
Abstract: Testing of a vehicle battery in a state removed from a vehicle, using a testing device that is fashioned for testing the vehicle battery installed in the vehicle using an on-board diagnostic interface of the vehicle. The device has: an interface to which a plug of the testing device can be connected, the plug being for connection to the on-board diagnostic interface of the vehicle; an electrical connecting device via which at least one electrical vehicle battery terminal of the vehicle battery is connectable to the device; and an adapter device by which signals receivable from the electrical vehicle battery terminal of the vehicle battery via the connecting device are conductible to the interface in such a way that the signals at the interface for the testing device are capable of being tested via the plug corresponding to a configuration of the on-board diagnostic interface of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5188545
Abstract: The terminal (2) comprises a stamped and formed metal pin socket (6) comprising a base (12) from which extend two contact springs (14) each comprising an L-cross section forward portion having identical parts (18 and 20) which extend at right angles to each other. Back from contact bosses (22) of the springs (14), each spring (14) has a longitudinal slot (28) which enables the parts (18 and 20) of each spring (14) to splay resiliently apart from each other when a square cross section pin (P) is inserted into the socket (6), without the pin insertion force or the contact force exerted by the contact bosses (22) against the pin (P), being excessive. These forces can be predetermined by suitably dimensioning the slots (28).

  • Patent number: 4998086
Abstract: An electrical fuse assembly has a dielectric housing and a fuse terminal which is stamped and formed from metal stock having the appropriate electrical characteristics. The fuse terminal has blade portions which are made from metal stock which has been folded over, to provide the blade portions with the strength characteristics required. Support members are also provided on the fuse terminal. The support members cooperate with cooperation surfaces to insure that the fuse terminal is properly positioned in the housing of the assembly. During the manufacture of fuse assembly a positioning bar extends between respective conductors. The positioning bar provides the structural support required to insure that the conductors are maintained in space relationship. After the conductors are partially inserted into the housing, a portion of the positioning bar is removed to provide a stop means which cooperates with the housing of the fuse assembly.
