  • Publication number: 20120000315
Abstract: In a method and a device for controlling vibrations of a metallurgical vessel that occur while gas is being injected into liquid molten metal located in the metallurgical vessel, a certain total amount of gas per unit of time is injected into the liquid molten metal, and the total amount of gas being is injected into the liquid molten metal through a number of individual nozzles in the metallurgical vessel, measured values correlating with the vibrations of the metallurgical vessel occurring are being measured during the injection, wherein while keeping the total amount of gas injected per unit of time largely constant, the amount of gas injected from individual nozzles per unit of time is changed in dependence on the measured values that are measured and correlate with the vibrations of the metallurgical vessel occurring.

  • Publication number: 20080265474
Abstract: A tiltable metallurgical vessel having a carrying ring at least partially around it. A metallurgical supporting bracket fastened on the metallurgical vessel rests on the ring. The vessel is releasably fixed on the support ring by a clamping device actuated by a pressure-medium cylinder. The clamping means interacts with a locking bracket fastened on the vessel. The clamping device moves between a release position, releasing it from the locking bracket and clamping position, clamping the locking bracket together with the support ring, The clamping device comprises a housing, a clamping anchor, a pivot lever and a pressure-medium cylinder, which acts on the pivot lever. The clamping anchor is guided in a pivotable manner in a guide means in the housing. The anchor is pivotably articulated on a pivotable lever, and the pivot lever is supported in a pivotable manner in the housing.

  • Patent number: 6619375
Abstract: In a casting roll for a thin strip casting plant, comprising an essentially cylindrical core (1), a mantle (2) of copper or a copper alloy optionally being provided with at least one outside layer (5), an internal cooling system (4) as well as an adjusting means (8, 17, 20) for adjusting the outline of the casting roll in its front-end regions (7), the adjusting means for the purpose of levelling out thermally caused crowns with the aid of constructively simple means has in each front-end region of the casting roll a supporting disk (17) adjustable in the longitudinal direction of the casting roll and engaging a ring (8) radially surrounding the supporting disk (17) and abutting the mantle (2) from the inside in its front-end regions, which ring is fixedly attached with regard to the core (1) in the longitudinal direction of the casting roll (Fig.).

  • Patent number: 6228320
Abstract: A converter is provided having a converter vessel carried on a trunnion ring by a mounting system. The mounting system has six mounting elements including a plurality of mounting elements incorporating pendulum rods and one mounting element incorporating a stabilizer device. Each pendulum rod is connected at one end to the trunnion ring and at the other end to the converter vessel. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the mounting system includes three longitudinal mounting devices each having a longitudinal pendulum rod; two transverse mounting devices each having a transverse pendulum rod; and a stabilizer device having a pair of spaced stabilizer blocks connected to the trunnion ring and a pair of stabilizer elements connected to the converter vessel. The longitudinal mounting devices and the stabilizer device are located below the trunnion ring and the transverse mounting devices are located above the trunnion ring when the converter vessel is in an upright position.

  • Patent number: 5360899
Abstract: Hydrophilic, water-dilatable cyclodextrin polymerizates have a high cyclodextrin content and possess good mechanical properties. The cyclodextrin pearl polymerizates are produced by reacting hydroxyalkyl cyclodextrin derivatives with bifunctional crosslinking agents such as epichlorohydrin or diepoxides, followed by hydroxyalkylation of the primary product so obtained. The cyclodextrin polymerizates produced in this manner have mechanical properties appreciably superior to those of known, comparable cyclodextrin polymers.

  • Patent number: 5357012
Abstract: A hydrophilic, water-dilatable cyclodextrin polymerizate has a high cyclodextrin content which possesses good mechanical properties. The cyclodextrin pearl polymerizates are produced by radical, inversion suspension polymerization of cyclodextrin derivatives carrying methacrylate groups or their copolymerization with suitable comonomers such as hydroxyethylacrylate or hydroxymethylacrylate. Suitable cyclodextrin derivatives can be produced by reacting cyclodextrins or hydroxyalkyl cyclodextrins with methacrylic anhydride or with glycidyl methacrylate. The cyclodextrin polymerizates produced in this manner have mechanical properties appreciably superior to those of known, comparable cyclodextrin polymers.
