Abstract: A paste unit for a bottom guide device for gluing bottom warps or star seal bottom bags, which are formed of tube sections, is introduced. The paste unit includes an interchangeable glue reservoir and glue source nozzle, a metering roller, a glue application roller, as well as a making roller. Drive mechanisms are assigned to the rollers. The glue is transferred to the printing roller by the glue application roller. The paste unit may be operated with the glue reservoir to provide a closed system that allows the glue to be applied evenly, and the metering to be adjusted at a very fine setting. Alternatively, with the glue source nozzle installed, the paste unit functions as an open system, which is beneficial for use with certain types of glue.

Abstract: A paste unit and method of glue metering therein for a bottom guide device for star seal bottom bags, which are formed from tube sections, for gluing of bottom warps or star seal bottom bags. The paste unit includes a glue reservoir, a metering roller connected with the glue reservoir, a glue application roller which may be connected to the glue reservoir and a making roller connected to the glue application roller which transfers glue from the application roller to the bottom warps or the star seal bottoms. Drive mechanisms assigned to the above listed rollers enable the circumference speed of the glue application roller and of the making roller to be adjusted independently of one another.

Abstract: Disclosed is a bottom laying device for cross bottom bags (1) which are formed from tubular pieces (1). The bags pass through various processing stations inside the bottom laying device. The axis of the tubular pieces (1) during conveyance through said bottom laying device is oriented in a horizontal and orthogonal manner in respect to the direction of conveyance of said tubular pieces. The novel and inventive aspect of the device thus disclosed is that it enables further reduction of the dimensions of the middle of the bottom (A) without oversignificant reduction of the diameters of the counter press cylinders (7,7).

The device (30,100,200) comprises the following features: at least one first glue reservoir (101) or at least one glue input (111a,b) from which glue is supplied, glue lines (110) which transport glue to the gluing locations, a number of glue valves (32) which are to open and close individually, the glue profile (4) being definable based on the selective opening of the valves (32); glue outputs (71) which are allocated to the valves (32); at least one second glue reservoir (102), by means of which the second glue reservoir (102) can be pressurized. Methods for forming a glue profile (4) are also laid out.
