  • Publication number: 20190367424
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of a poorly water-soluble thermophosphate fertilizer to reduce water eutrophication caused by fertilizers, particularly due to fertilizer production or soil fertilization. The invention further relates to a method of reducing water eutrophication caused by fertilizers.

  • Patent number: 9234127
Abstract: An angular abrasive proppant comprises angular sintered particles of a material selected from bauxite, clay-minerals, and mixtures thereof, with particle sizes varying from 30 mesh to 150 mesh. A process for the production of an angular abrasive proppant comprising sintered particles of a material selected from bauxite, clay-minerals, and mixtures thereof comprises the steps of drying, grinding, pelletizing, and sintering a bauxite starting material, grinding the sintered pellets, and sizing said particles to a particle size varying from 35 to 150 mesh. A hydraulic fracturing process uses as proppant the angular abrasive proppant as the described above.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 12, 2008
Date of Patent: January 12, 2016
    Assignee: Mineracao Curimbaba Ltda.
Inventors: Gabriel Warwick Kerr de Paiva Cortes, Guilherme de Paiva Cortes
  • Patent number: 7954548
Abstract: The present invention relates to a proppant for the hydraulic fracturing of oil or gas wells, which consists of a mixture of from 10 to 95% by weight of a spherical proppant and from 5 to 90% by weight of an angular material, the percentages being based on the total weight of the mixture. The proppant obtained according to the present invention is useful for eliminating or decreasing the “flow-back” phenomenon in operations in oil or gas wells.

  • Publication number: 20090044941
Abstract: The present invention relates to improved spherical ceramic proppants for fracturing oil and/or gas wells, said proppants exhibiting spherical cavities on their surfaces. The novel proppants of the invention cause an increase in the turbulence of the oil and/or gas flow that passes through the facture where they are applied, with the consequent increase in the extraction productivity of oil or gas from these wells. The invention further relates to a process for forming cavities on the surface of spherical proppants.
