  • Publication number: 20050121115
Abstract: The invention concerns a sealing method for producing a film of oxide having good saline corrosion resistance properties on a metal substrate. Said method comprises steps consisting of: providing a buffered sealing solution comprising at least one simple cobalt II salt and at least one simple lithium III salt; and bringing said metal substrate having a previously oxidized surface into contact with said sealing solution for a period sufficient to form a mixed cobalt/lithium oxide film. More particularly, this method is applicable to a metal substrate produced from aluminum or from aluminum alloy anodized in a sulfuric medium.

  • Patent number: 6673709
Abstract: The reactive element is introduced to the surface of the metal substrate in the form of an oxide powder and the aluminide-type coating is then formed.

  • Publication number: 20030072878
Abstract: At least one gaseous precursor of the deposit to be made comprising an aluminum compound is brought by means of a carrier gas into contact with the surfaces of the part which is placed inside an enclosure. The carrier gas is selected from helium and argon and the pressure inside the enclosure is selected in such a manner that the mean free path of the carrier gas molecules is at least twice as long as that of argon molecules under atmospheric pressure. The method is suitable in particular for aluminizing gas turbine blades that have internal holes and cavities.
