  • Publication number: 20190040718
Abstract: Various subsea production arrangements may utilize a base module and a pump module including one or more subsea pumps, such as ESPs or subsea centrifugal pumps, the base module and pump module being fluidly coupled together. An adjustable foot may be utilized to at least partially support the pump module at a horizontal distance from the base module. A horizontally oriented pump module may be equipped with a truss arrangement designed to reduce bending loads on the pump module. The base module and pump module may be delivered to a subsea location separately or in a single trip. A modular subsea production arrangement may enable low cost installation and/or operation and high adaptability of various combinations of well production equipment. Certain subsea production arrangements may include one or more retrievable FCU/LCU modules for use with subsea apparatus, such as pumps and compressors.

  • Publication number: 20180202432
Abstract: A subsea or downhole pump includes an inlet and an outlet. A flow of a multiphase fluid entering the inlet can have a variation in a gas volume fraction (GVF). The subsea or downhole pump includes or is operatively coupled to control devices which provide for a control as the GVF varies. The control devices include a first transmitter for an electric pump current, a second transmitter for at least one of a pump speed, a pump frequency, and a pump voltage, and a controller. The controller reduces a speed of the subsea or downhole pump when a measured pump current decreases, and increases the speed of the subsea or downhole pump when the measured pump current increases.

  • Patent number: 9920597
Abstract: A system for subsea pumping or compressing includes an ESP (electrical submersible pump), a flowline jumper, a connector part in either end of the flowline jumper, and a truss structure or longitudinal rib-arrangement that acts as a stiffening arrangement. The ESP may be arranged in the flowline jumper which may be orientated in a substantially horizontal direction. The stiffening arrangement may function to ensure that the ESP shaft is straight at all times during lifting, installation and operation. The system may also include a load limiting arrangement for limiting or eliminating the load on structure and seabed supporting the system.

  • Patent number: 7152681
Abstract: A method utilizes the energy of water that flows out from a high-pressure reservoir. Water and hydrocarbons are separated in a down-hole separator and are brought separately to the seabed. In a first aspect the energy of the water is utilized to inject the water into an underground formation with a lower pressure. In a second aspect the energy is utilized to drive a turbine which in turn is driving a pump for pressurizing hydrocarbons. The invention utilizes a method and an arrangement to control the separator by control valves on the well head for each phase.

  • Patent number: 6868907
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for separating oil and water by means of a two-phase liquid/liquid separator. The oil phase and the water phase respectively are separated over a portion of the length of the separator from an upstream end to a downstream end. The oil phase and the water phase respectively are extracted gradually over a length of the separator, and each of the phases is conducted out of the separator separately. A method and an arrangement for orienting the separator in a well are also described.

  • Publication number: 20040069494
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and arrangements for utilising the energy of water that flows out from a high-pressure reservoir. Water and hydrocarbons are separated in a down-hole separator (3) and are brought separately to the seabed. In a first aspect the energy of the water is utilised to inject the water into an underground formation (28) with a lower pressure. In a second aspect the energy is utilised to drive a turbine which in turn is driving a pump (32) for pressurising hydrocarbons. As a part of the invention a method and an arrangement to control the separator (3) by control valves (7, 8) on the well head (6) for each phase is provided. In a further aspect a higher water pressure is provided by gas lift.
