  • Patent number: 6105687
Abstract: A portable power tool comprises a housing (10), a motor, a handle (11), and a connection device for fixed connection of a terminal end of a flexible power supply line (16), wherein a support device (17) is mounted on the housing (10) for supporting the power supply line (16) at a support point (A) located at a certain distance from the terminal end (15) of the line (16), which support device (17) is swivelled relative to the housing (10) about a first axis (x--x) substantially coinciding with the longitudinal direction of the power supply line (16) at the terminal end (15) of the latter and about a second axis (y--y) extending perpendicularly to the first axis (x--x) as well as to the longitudinal direction of the power supply line (16) in the support point (A). Between its terminal end (15) and its support point (A), the power support line (16) is routed in a free loop (19) large enough to avoid a detrimental sharp bending thereof.

  • Patent number: 6047455
Abstract: A method for simultaneous tightening of two or more screw joints to a desired pretension condition by means of a nut running tool having two or more output spindles each having an adjustable output torque, wherein each one of the output spindles is individually operated according to at least one primary tightening parameter from among torque, angular position, time, clampload, and screw joint elongation. An instantaneous value of the at least one primary tightening parameter is continuously detected for each one of the output spindles, and the instantaneous tightening parameter value for each one of said output spindles is continuously compared with a corresponding instantaneous tightening parameter value of each other one of the output spindles.

  • Patent number: 6034463
Abstract: A process for fabricating a stator for an electric machine having a tubular unslotted ferromagnetic flux collector ring (16) and stator winding coils (18, 19, 20) with two legs which extend substantially axially along the inner cylindrical surface of the flux collector ring (16). Each winding coil leg is confined within an envelope (22) of a thin, flexible, non-conductive non-magnetizable material which is impregnated with and bonded to the next legs as well as to the flux collector ring (16) by a hot-setting resinous material.

  • Patent number: 6005489
Abstract: An electric power tool includes a power supply which is one of a replaceable battery unit, a rechargeable battery unit, and a cable connection for detachably connecting to a mains power supply. A code receiver is provided for receiving a code signal from a code signal emitting device via a contact free transmission. An electronic controller is arranged to switch the power tool to an operable mode when the power supply is coupled to the power tool and the code signal is received by the code signal receiver. The electronic controller is also arranged to switch the power tool to an inoperable mode when the power supply is uncoupled from the power tool and to maintain the power tool in the inoperable mode until the power supply is re-coupled to the power tool and the code signal is again received by the code signal receiver.

  • Patent number: 5775999
Abstract: A hydraulic torque impulse generator having a drive member (10) with a fluid chamber (12) and an output spindle (11) extending into the fluid chamber (12) and being provided with a movable seal element (19) and an axial seal ridge (22) for cooperation with oppositely disposed axial seal lands (13, 14) in the fluid chamber (12) to, thereby, divide the fluid chamber (12) into one high pressure compartment (H.P.) and one low pressure compartment (L.P.) during a limited angular interval of relative rotation between the drive member (10) and the output spindle (11), and a valve means comprising an elongate contact element (24, 44) which is supported in an axial groove (23, 43) in the seal ridge (22 ), which groove (23, 43) communicates with the high pressure compartment (H.P.) such that the contact element (24, 44) is urged into its sealing condition by the fluid pressure at pressure magnitudes above a certain level.

  • Patent number: 5750932
Abstract: A multi-core cable (15) for communicating electric power and electrical signals to and from a hand held power nutrunner (10). Three longitudinal sections (16-18) are arranged in parallel with each other, and each has a geometric center (20-22) such that in any cross section of the cable (15) the geometric centers (20-22) are disposed on a straight line (24). A flex zone (A) is arranged adjacent the nutrunner (10) and has a preformed longitudinally twisted shape for obtaining a universal flexibility of the cable (15) and, thereby, a comfortable handling of the nutrunner (10).

  • Patent number: 4097184
Abstract: A pressure operated shut-off valve for controlling a pneumatic circuit for instance a supply passage of a pneumatic tool, in response to the motive air supply pressure. The valve comprises a valve body that is continuously biased in its closing direction by a spring means and in its opening diection by the motive air supply pressure. If the air pressure drops below a predetermined minimum value the valve is automatically shifted to a closed position by the load of the spring means. A valve body controlled passage means supplies pressure air to the rear end of the valve body as the latter occupies its closed position, thereby making the closed position stable.

  • Patent number: 4063625
Abstract: A screw or nut runner for tightening screw joints wherein a speed related braking force is applied upon those rotating parts of the nut runner that are positively coupled to the screw joint, thereby avoiding the influence of the inertia factor upon the obtained torque level. The power transmission of the screw or nut runner comprises a magnetic release clutch. A centrifugal brake is located after the release clutch in the power train for preloading the release clutch by generating a speed related braking force.
