  • Publication number: 20030076561
Abstract: A method and the corresponding apparatus for multi-plexing data flows from a number of transmission units. In the method signals are sent from the transmission units and the signals are detected at inputs of a switching unit. Signals, which are detected at a point of time when no other signal is forwarded to an output from the switching unit, are forwarded to said output, whereas signals which are detected at a point of time when another signal is forwarded to said output, are blocked.

  • Publication number: 20020181513
Abstract: A microchip laser arrangement is disclosed. The arrangement is operative to emit Q-switched laser pulses at 1.54 &mgr;m. The lasing medium of the laser arrangement is preferably comprised of Yb:Er-glass, and the Q-switch is comprised of a saturable absorber of cobalt doped spinel crystal. The lasing medium is preferably bonded to the absorber to form a monolithic body, upon the surface of which there are deposited dielectric stacks forming a resonant laser cavity, Pumping of the active medium is performed by means of an InGaAs laser diode emitting light at 0.97 &mgr;m, corresponding well with the absorption of the Yb:Er-glass material.

  • Patent number: 6162163
Abstract: A centrifugal separator comprises a centrifuge rotor (1), which has a wall (10) defining an interior of the rotor (1) and which during operation of the centrifugal separator is rotatable about a rotational axis (y) with respect to a stationary pipe member (2) comprising at least one passage for the transport of material. The pipe member (2) is provided to extend into the interior of the centrifuge rotor through an aperture of the rotor (1). A product separated during operation is collected in a chamber (9) provided in the proximity of said aperture and partly defined by an end wall portion (11) extending around said aperture and the pipe member (2) in such a manner that a clearance gap is formed between a radially inner edge of the end wall portion (11) and the pipe member (2). The end wall portion (11) is arranged to be deformable in the case that the pipe member contacts the end wall portion during the operation of the separator.

  • Patent number: 5944649
Abstract: Method and device (21) for the supply of control liquid to a rotor of a centrifugal separator, which device (21) includes a cylinder (25), in which a movable wall element (26) is arranged, which axially delimits a storing chamber (29) in the cylinder (25). In the storing chamber (29) a predetermined volume of control liquid is stored. Control liquid is pressed out of the storing chamber (29) into the rotor during axial displacement of the wall element (26). Furthermore, the invention includes a centrifugal separator, which is provided with such a device (21). A portion of the control liquid in the storing chamber (29) is pressed upon displacement of the wall element (26) a first distance out through a first outlet passage (33) in the device with a high flow. The first outlet passage (33) is then closed when the wall element (26) has been displaced this distance.

  • Patent number: 5574885
Abstract: A modular system for a buffer memory used for storing output queues (80a-k) of a packet switch is described. A series of memories (90) are each connected to both the input lines (10a-k) and the output lines (160a-k) of the switch. Each memory (90) is provided with a memory controller (100) connected to a latch (50) which is in turn connected to AND gates (60a-k). These AND gates (60a-k) ensure that packets are only stored in the memory (90) of the module in which the first latch (50) is set. When the memory (90) is full, the memory controller (100) resets this first latch (50) in the current module and sets the corresponding first latch (50) in the next module. The packets are then read into the memory (90) of the next module. A marker circuit (70) is used to insert in the output queues (80a-k) a marker to indicate that the next entries of the queue are to be found in the next module.
