Abstract: A printer (10) for printing single sheets (126, 128) and at least one continuous paper strip (122) on a printing substrate plane (19), in which a single sheet (126, 128) is led up to the printing station (36, 56) from the operator side by being displaced manually on a feed table (20) and, in said printing station, can overlap the continuous paper strip (122), at least over part of the width of the latter. The continuous paper strip (122) is fed to the printing station (36, 56) from the operating side and the continuous paper feed channel (34) and the single-sheet feed channel (30) are each assigned a driven feed roller (98; 38) of a pair of feed rollers (100; 44). A mating roller (42) that is arranged on a rocker (48) can be pressed optionally against the driven feed roller (98; 38) of the continuous paper feed channel (34) or the single-sheet feed channel (30).

Abstract: By moving the printing head of a printing unit to a position outside the printing area, a paper stop is pivoted into the paper transport path and, by lowering the printing head, a gap is opened both between the printing head and printing abutment and between the paper pressure rollers, the coupling of the printing head to the paper pressure rollers in relation to the lowering movement simultaneously effecting adjustment of the printing head gap.

Abstract: The invention relates to a PC-based electronic control unit 10 with a mother board 20 and an additional printed circuit board 38, whose connection plugs are accessible through apertures, arranged in parallel rows, in a housing wall 18. Between these rows there is a further row of apertures for 134,150,154 connection plugs 34,50,54 which may be provided on the mother board 20 or on the additional printed circuit board 38 or else on daughter boards 28 which can be plugged onto one of the mother board 20 or the additional printed circuit board 38. A connector 56 for receiving a memory card 60 is provided on the mother board 20. A plug 62 is engageable with the memory card and the plug cable 64 is passed through an opening 66 in the housing wall 18.

Abstract: A weighing device for the self-service registration of goods in stores contains a floor scale (2), which is disposed in an upwardly open standing container (3). The floor scale (2) has a suspension device (8) for at least one carrying container (11) which is removable from it. It is protected by the standing container (3) against accidental influences from outside, so that prolongations of the weighing procedure are prevented. As a result of the arrangement of the carrying container (11) on the floor balance (3), the departure of the customer with the weighed goods from the weighing area is speeded up. As the weighing receptacle in the standing container (3), a shopping container, for example a shopping cart (21), can also be used. For this purpose, the floor scale (50, 60) is in this case of U-shaped configuration in top view and is provided with bearing elements (52, 71) for the shopping container.

Abstract: A device for collecting successively supplied sheet-like notes, for example printed documents, and for dispensing the collected bundle of notes at the dispensing station of a dispensing machine (2) comprises a collecting cartridge (20) which is arranged in the machine housing (4) such that it can be adjusted by means of an adjusting device between a collecting position (A), withdrawn in the machine housing (4), arranged at the end of a note conveyor (12), and a dispensing position (C), located in the dispensing station and accessible for access. At least the front part (36) of the bottom (22) close to the side wall (24) is designed as a door (48) which can be adjusted into an open position freeing a bottom opening, a cartridge compartment (42) being arranged underneath the collecting cartridge (20).

Abstract: In the case of a service desk for the registration, booking and/or payment of goods, vouchers and the like, having a service section (38) including at least a data display device (28), a data input device (26) and an output device (22, 24) for coupons, receipts and the like, this service section comprises at least two parts (14; 20, 28), of which a first part (14) is always on the customer's side of the service desk and a second part (20, 28) can be moved between the customer's side and the operator's side of the service desk.

Abstract: The money drawer (3) has a lid (14), which is connected to the drawer housing (2) by the money drawer (3) being slid into the drawer housing and is detachable from the drawer housing (2) through the creation of the locking attachment between the lid and the money drawer. In a preferred refinement, the lid (14) contains a receiving tray (50) for an integrated circuit card, preferably for one conforming to ISO Standard 7816.2.3. A till drawer of this kind is suitable for all cash registers and, due to the possible allocation of a money drawer to a specific member of the till staff, can preferably be used in respect of cash registers where there is a frequent changeover of staff. The cards can be used as a company identity card enabling a cashier to clock on at the cash register.

Abstract: A laptop computer has a base housing and an associated printer (2'), an input keyboard (320, 328) and a screen (306,304). The base housing has a transport channel (3') for a printing medium which runs towards the rear from the operating side and extends essentially over the whole width of the base housing so that printing media of corresponding width (e.g. A4 format) can be printed. The printer (2) is designed as a flat-bed printer and preferably has a dot matrix printing head which can be moved in the lower housing part (4') transversely to the direction of motion (8) of the printing medium (line direction).

Abstract: Device for receiving integrated circuit cards. The devices used until now in practice do not sufficiently protect the individual cards in all operating modes. The present device is intended to allow the cards to be locked. For this purpose, a locking mechanism (16) is provided, having at least one bar (9) which is designed as a lever (20, 21, 22) and can be moved out of a locking position into an unlocking position and vice versa and which is preferably held in its locking position with the aid of a holding device (23). The holding device (23) may, for example, be a torsion spring (36). In the case of another embodiment, the locking mechanism (16) may additionally have a closable blocking device (44) which acts on one of the abovementioned levers and can be moved out of a blocking position, preventing a movement of the relevant lever (21, 22), into a release position, releasing a movement of the lever (21, 22), and vice versa.

Abstract: The invention relates to a flat printer which is divided in a print carrier plane into a lower housing part and a housing cover which can be placed on or lifted off the latter. The housing cover is pivotably connected to the lower housing part. In a basic version, the housing cover contains only inactive functional components, namely a printing abutment as well as upper transport rollers. All the active functional components, namely the printing head, the driven lower transport rollers with their drives, as well as the drive for the ink ribbon cassette are arranged in the lower housing part. The electronic drive and control device is designed as a circuit board, onto which the functional components to be connected to it are preferably plugged directly.

Abstract: For purposes of the smooth and rapid checking out especially even of damaged goods labels, a process for the checking out of goods is proposed in which the data concerning them are automatically, and preferably also manually in the event of faulty checking, entered in the check-out device. In addition, at least two devices for implementing the process are described which have a goods check-out device with both an automatic scanning device and a manually operable input console. One of these devices also makes it possible to relieve and reduce the number of the service staff.

Abstract: A goods scanning device in which the goods scanning window fitted in a housing is arranged upright beside the goods conveying surface has already been proposed. Furthermore, goods scanning devices in which the goods scanning window is arranged in the goods conveying surface and level with or above the latter are known from practice. In the case of the novel goods scanning device, the goods scanning performed by the goods scanning window is to be facilitated.For this purpose, the housing (12) is adjustable in such a way that the goods scanning window (13) is located as desired in a horizontal or vertical position (B, C, D). In a preferred embodiment, the goods scanning window (13) is arranged in the horizontal position (B, D) as desired in the region of the goods conveying surface (11) and level with the latter or above the goods conveying surface (11) and at a distance therefrom.The goods scanning device is particularly suitable for registering heavy and/or bulky articles.

Abstract: In a holding device for plug-in cards of an electrical device having a card rack forming a frame-like plug-in connection panel or operating panel, the plug-in cards are mounted in parallel with one another on this card rack by means of the front plates provided at one of their edges. Each front plate carries at least one plug-in connector and/or one operating or display element which is arranged in the area of an aperture in the card rack closed by the respective front plate. At least one aperture (16) is larger than the remaining apertures (12, 14). The front plate (50) provided for this aperture (16) carries at least one plug-in connector (54) and/or one operating or display element in a section of its aperture (16) which is enlarged compared with the other apertures.

Abstract: An alphanumeric keyboard comprises a plurality of key operated switches and a cover frame which covers the switches and has bosses for receiving switch operating rams carried by key buttons having projections which receive the rams and which fit into the bosses. At least one compound key of the keyboard is associated with at least two switches and includes a compound key head which overlies at least two bosses. At least one of the rams of this compound key is so mounted on the compound key head that it can be adjusted relative to the compound key head parallel to the keying direction.

Abstract: A merchandise scanner for retail stores includes a horizontal conveyor for transporting merchandise, a scanning window facing an area above the conveyor and an operator console with control elements positioned along side the conveyor and at right angles to the direction of merchandise transport, wherein the conveyor is vertically movable. The scanning window of a scanning device is also vertically movable, either together with or independently of the conveyor so that it can be adjusted in accordance with the size and weight of the merchandise as well as the position of bar codes on the merchandise.

Abstract: In a money till with a box-shaped housing (10), whose upper side is partially closed by a stationary cover (12) and partially closed by a lid (16), the lid includes two lid parts (18, 20) connected with one another about a pivot axis (22), the first lid part (18) which is closer to the stationary cover (12) being guided for sliding movement parallel to the stationary cover (12), whereas the second lid part (20) is connected with at least one guide element (34) which, at a radial spacing from the pivot axis (22), is engaged with a cam curve (36) so that upon a sliding of the lid (16) the second lid part (20) is pivoted between a closed position and an open position.

Abstract: Sheet feeding accessories for a typewriter-type printer unit having a stepwise driven print roller. The single sheet feeder is pivotally mounted on the printing unit and the continuous sheet feeder is mounted piggyback style on the single sheet feeder. A drive belt commonly connects the print roller, the single sheet feeder, and the continuous sheet feeder. take-off (60,61) is provided down stream in the direction of printing media movement. Both a single sheet conveyor (15) and a continuous form conveyor (30) attached to conveyor 15 are driven by a drive belt 21 commonly interconnecting the drive roller (12), the drive take-off (60,61) with the sheet and forms conveyor to achieve synchronous operation in the same feed direction. The drive take-off (60,61) has rollers of such a circumference in engagement with the printing media so as to maintain tension on the printing media when fed therethrough.
