  • Patent number: 6113392
Abstract: A dental instrument with an instrument part (I) and a handle part (1, 1', 1") as well as a number of countable elements (2, 2', 4) which can be individually attached to or removed from the handle part (1, 1', 1"). With each use of the instrument, the dentist is able to remove or attach one element from/to the handle part (1, 1', 1"). The number of countable elements (2, 2', 4) on the handle (1, 1', 1") provides the dentist with an indication of the number of completed uses made with the instrument, so that it can be disposed of before it is subject to stress failure during use.

  • Patent number: 5060611
Abstract: A process and a device for air proportioning during idling or overrun mode of operation in an internal-combustion engine are provided. During idling, the internal-combustion engine is regulated to a nominal speed by means of a PI controller (203, 204) and a preliminary air rate control value is determined as a function of temperature, gear position and air-conditioning state of the vehicle. At the same time, the actual air mass or air intake rate (60) is measured and the difference value of the actual air intake rate and the preliminary air-rate control value is stored in a store (304). During overrun, the air-mass throughput of the internal-combustion engine is regulated to this stored value. Furthermore, the control receives a series of auxiliary variables which make it easier to carry out the control as a function of the particular operating mode.

  • Patent number: 4689746
Abstract: The invention is directed to a mixture metering arrangement for an internal combustion engine with a digital data processor, particularly a microcomputer, the signal processing pattern of which is governed by clock pulses, and with a signal generating means which delivers analog output signals. The signal generating means is responsive to operating parameters of the internal combustion engine and is an exhaust gas sensor responsive to the air ratio Lambda. The exhaust gas sensor is used in a closed-loop control system to influence the air-fuel ratio and changes its output quantity at the air ratio of Lambda=1. In this arrangement, a correcting stage corrects the influence of a delay time (t.sub.v) connected with the clocked signal processing on the mixture formation. The delay occurs in the transmission of the change in the output of the sensor. Two methods are indicated for the mode of operation of the correcting stage by means of which a mean value shift of the quantity (F.sub.

  • Patent number: 4644665
Abstract: In a process, the humidity of at least the exhaust air is measured and used for the regulation of the product humidity of water activity during a treatment process. Therefore, it is possible to directly register the humidity taken on by the inlet air or charged onto it, and to draw a conclusion about the humidity content of the product. To register the humidity value, a measuring device with moisture testers in the inlet air channel and in the exhaust air channel is provided. Especially the moisture tester for the exhaust air is constructed as a bypass flow moisture tester in an intrinsically safe manner, so that it can be used even under ex-conditions. During drying procedures, the possible measuring of the humidity charge of the exhaust air from the drying process, the course can be exactly controlled. The moisture testers can be constructed as dew point testers, especially with capacitive measuring probes.

  • Patent number: 4580220
Abstract: A failsafe emergency operation device for the idling operation of motor vehicles, in particular for a digital idling charge regulation having a final control element triggered by an end stage circuit, which final control element, as a two-coil rotary adjuster, controls the cross section of an air bypass parallel to the throttle valve. A central computer (microprocessor, microcomputer) prepares a digital trigger signal for the end stage having a duty cycle which is variable depending upon the final control element position required. At the same time, at at least one position of the final control element, an end stage monitoring signal which is to be fed back is prepared and fed back to the computer, which via a separate shutoff stage for the end stage makes this end stage current-free whenever agreement does not exist between the two signals in terms of the duty cycle.

  • Patent number: 4513711
Abstract: In a system for regulation of the idling speed of an internal combustion engine acting through an electrical positioning means for the minimum-opening position of the throttle valve, the building-up of troublesome fluctuations in engine speed as the result of the characteristics of the regulation loop is counteracted in response to detection of the rise of such fluctuations or of their imminence as the result of an excessively rich mixture (on the basis of the signal from a probe in the exhaust pipe). When such a condition is detected, the amplification factors in the controller stage of the regulation loop are reduced, the reference desired idling speed value is raised and the lower limit of the regulation range is also raised. These parameters are returned to normal when the throttle valve moves away from its idling speed position.
