  • Publication number: 20190226909
Abstract: A measuring method and a measuring device for the spatially resolved measurement of radiation signals, in particular light signals, wherein RIfS-measurements can be carried out. At least two locations are imaged onto a detector in a spatially resolved manner by means of a spatial modulator, and either by means of a Hadamard transformation the intensity difference is calculated between the two locations from the detected signal by modulating the locations using the same Hadamard sequence, wherein one of the Hadamard sequences at one location is inverted compared to the other sequence at the respective other location, or the intensity difference between the two locations is calculated from the signal detected from the two locations with the same frequency by means of a Fourier transformation, wherein the signals are amplitude-modulated, but phase-shifted relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 7011955
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for quantitative or qualitative determination of an analyte or its interaction or reaction kinetics in a system with at least two different phases, comprising the step of taking at least one measurement signal from at least one of the phases, whereby the different phases are present in parallel when taking the signal and whereby each measurement signal is attributed to one of at least two phases. In addition, the invention concerns a sample carrier, in particular for use in the method constituting the invention with one or more wells. The sample carrier is characterized by the fact that at least a portion of the sample carrier at least in the range of one or more wells is coated with fluorescence-quenching material.

  • Publication number: 20030113939
Abstract: A device for carrying out and/or detecting affinity reactions comprises at least one surface or boundary surface on which an affinity reaction can take place, and at least one polymer bound to the surface. According to the invention, this device is obtainable by bonding the polymer to the surface in its pure phase, i e. essentially free of solvents. The polymer is preferably a terminally homo- or heterosubstituted bifunctional polymer, a corresponding polyalkylene glycol, in particular a polyethylene glycol, being preferred. The surface can be made of a metal oxide, in particular silicon dioxide. Before bonding the polymer, an activation of the surface, preferably by introducing functional groups by means of a silanization, can be effected.

  • Patent number: 6137576
Abstract: Optical transducers for measuring a contaminant in a gas are disclosed, whereby said contaminant interacts with a liquid crystalline phase as a sensing element in a flow cell. According to the invention nematic crystalline phases on a orientation layer are used. Means are provided to measure or to detect changes of the refractive index of said liquid crystalline phase caused by interaction of said contaminant with said liquid crystalline phase. In preferred embodiments the means for measuring or for detecting the refractive index is a Mach-Zehnder interferometer, a grating coupler, or a device for e.g. visual detection, whereby the flow cell is placed between two linearly polarizing filters, and whereby the two axis of polarization are crossed. Furthermore optical transducers are disclosed, which contain an isotropic dopant in a liquid crystalline phase.

  • Patent number: 5262842
Abstract: A sensor for detecting substances including hydrocarbons includes an integrated optical interferometer in the form of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer having a measuring arm and a comparison arm in a wave guide substrate. A polymer such as polysiloxane is applied as a superstrate to the wave guide in the region of the measuring arm. This superstrate can be penetrated by the substance to be detected. Swelling response, gas absorption, refractive index of the polymer and doping with chromophores or fluorophores, layer thickness and layer length are all parameters which can be adapted for a substance-selective performance. Other means of selection include various superstrates on a number of interferometers mounted parallel on a chip and polychrome measurements in combination with methods of pattern recognition constitute further means of selection.
