Patent number: 6488724Abstract: The additive described essentially comprises a selected alkoxylated fatty amine or fatty amine derivative and a special metal salt compound, preferably a metal soap. This additive for heavy oils effects a good emulsification or dispersion of asphaltenes and other higher-molecular weight compounds and, in addition, inter alia, increased storage stability, improved pumpability due to decreased viscosity of the oil and longer service lives of the filter systems. In addition, it also effects enhanced combustion of the heavy oils. The effective amount of additive in these oils is 2 to 2000 ppm. The oils described are suitable, in particular, as furnace fuel for industrial plants and power stations and as engine fuel for marine engines.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1997Date of Patent: December 3, 2002Assignee: Clariant GmbHInventors: Günther Hertel, Michael Feustel, Hakan Byström, Geoffrey Richards

Patent number: 6182459Abstract: In a refrigerated case for food products, having a display surface and a cool-air current that circulates around the display surface, the air current flows through a filter for filtering out airborne particles, bacteria and the like. The filter covers the clear cross section of the exit opening of a circulation channel.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 1998Date of Patent: February 6, 2001Inventor: Günther Hertel

Patent number: 5811385Abstract: The ester quat solutions described contain at least 70% by weight, based on the solution, of at least one ester quat compound of the formula below ##STR1## where RCO is an aliphatic acyl radical having 6 to 22 carbon atoms, R' is H or a C.sub.1 to C.sub.22 alkyl radical, R.sup.1 is a methyl or ethyl radical, R.sup.2 is a C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 alkyl radical, R.sup.3 is a C.sub.3 to C.sub.8 alkyl radical and X.sup.- is a halide, alkyl carbonate, alkyl phosphate or an alkyl sulfate, where alkyl is methyl or ethyl. They are prepared by quaternizing corresponding carboxylic acid alkanolamine esters with, preferably, methyl chloride or dimethyl sulfate. The aqueous solutions described are advantageously suitable for preparing laundry detergents and cosmetics.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 1997Date of Patent: September 22, 1998Inventors: Oliver Eyrisch, Gunther Hertel

Patent number: 5346344Abstract: An interface 1 between a tool carrier 5 and a clamping shaft 3 of a machine tool holding the tool carrier is proposed comprising a hollow fitting pivot 7 which is provided at the tool carrier and is provided with a first clamping surface 19 on its inner wall, comprising a recess 9 provided at the front wall 73 of the clamping shaft for receiving the fitting pivot, a clamping member 37 is arranged in this recess 9 and is axially displaceable inside the clamping pivot, the clamping member 37 is provided on its outer side with a second clamping surface 71 cooperating with the first clamping surface via clamping elements 69 which are arranged on the outside of the clamping member, can be swiveled out radially by the clamping member against a resilient restoring force, and can be made to engage with the first and second clamping surfaces, characterized in that the clamping elements 69 are arranged at the circumference of the clamping member constructed as clamping pin 37 so as to be freely movable in the axial dirType: GrantFiled: April 1, 1992Date of Patent: September 13, 1994Assignee: APAL Fabrik fur Prazisionswerkzeuge Dr. Kress KGInventors: Dieter Kress, Friedrich Haberle, Gunther Hertel

Patent number: 5252257Abstract: The concentrate contains an ammonium compound which carries a longer-chain and a medium-chain substituent on the nitrogen atom, and both the other substituents are either hydrogen atoms, methyl, ethyl or .beta.-hydroxyethyl. The medium-chain substituent should have half the carbon atoms of the longer-chain substituent or one or two carbon atoms less than half. Instead of an ammonium compound, a mixture of several ammonium compounds can also be present which on average corresponds to the formula described above. In addition to water, the concentrate can also contain 0 to 10% by weight, relative to the total amount of the ammonium compounds, of one or more compounds which are selected from amongst alkali metal salts, ammonium salts, aliphatic amines, alkyl or alkenyl esters or olefins having 6 to 20 carbon atoms. The concentrates have a low viscosity, which makes them easily pumpable, transportable and meterable.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 1992Date of Patent: October 12, 1993Assignee: Hoechst AktiengesellschaftInventors: Heinz Hoffmann, Gunther Hertel, Hubert Seitz

Patent number: 4740115Abstract: A broach for working the services of pre-cast or preformed pins on workpieces while the workpieces are rotating, including a broach body and having a number of sections including a roughing section provided with cutting elements including perforated reversible plates fastened therein. The cutting plates are formed of a hard cutting material and have cutting edges which converge toward each other in a pushing direction of the broach during working along lines defining opposites acute angles symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal axis of the broach.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 1986Date of Patent: April 26, 1988Assignee: Karl Hertel GmbHInventors: Gunther Hertel, Karl G. Patent number: 4729700Abstract: A drive unit for a rotary tool, which unit includes a housing, a drive shaft mounted in the housing for transferring rotational drive force from a rotary drive to the tool, and a clamping mechanism mounted in the housing for generating a tool clamping movement along the axis of the drive shaft. The drive shaft is a hollow shaft, the clamping mechanism includes a pull rod mounted in the drive shaft and coaxially positioned relative to the drive shaft, the pull rod being mounted to be axially displaceable and fixed against rotation relative to the drive shaft, and the unit further includes a blocking device operative between the drive shaft and the housing for permitting the drive shaft to rotate relative to the housing only when the drive shaft is coupled to the rotary drive.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 1986Date of Patent: March 8, 1988Assignee: Hertel AG Werkzeuge & HartstoffeInventors: Gunther Hertel, Karl G.
