  • Publication number: 20060144031
Abstract: The invention relates to a cutting device that is secured on the hand for picking fruit, in particular for pressure sensitive fruit. In one embodiment, the connection between the scissors and the hands and fingers enables the picker to feel the surface and stalk of the fruit with his or her fingers in order to guide the scissors into the best position for cutting the stalk. The cutting element may then be spoon-shaped in such a way that the severed fruit stalk does not project beyond the surface of the fruit. The cutting element may comprise support elements and be fixed to at least one finger using suitable fixing means.

  • Publication number: 20060144461
Abstract: According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a tying apparatus is provided for tying, with a tying element, a first element to a second element. The tying apparatus comprises a driving mechanism, a shaft and a grabber for twisting a beginning section of a tying element around a middle section of the tying element. The tying apparatus can be operated with one single hand.

  • Publication number: 20050252353
Abstract: According to an exemplary embodiment of the invention, a grip is provided for fastening different objects that can be attached to fingers, hands, arms or legs or other anatomical parts of a user. This grip prevents tools from slipping away or falling down. Objects do not need to be put away and a user, nevertheless, has a full freedom of movement in order to be able to perform different types of work such as cutting, tying, etc. more quickly than in the past. The grip may comprise a handle, a fixation element and a pulling element all of which being joint to one another in a fixed, gradual or continuous manner.

  • Publication number: 20050252941
Abstract: A carrying bag is provided which may enable the content contained therein to be removed from the carrying bag without being damaged. This may be made possible by different parts of the carrying bag, which may be flexibly joint to one another, and by sidewalls having both moving elements as well as special joining means. The carrier bag may be worn over the shoulders by means of straps or the like and may be particularly suited for carrying and/or emptying delicate goods.

  • Patent number: 5406856
Abstract: A pipetting apparatus comprising a case and a receptacle formed therein, a pipette tip having a tube-like tip portion with a tip opening for fluid flow from the outside to the inside and vice versa and a deformable portion which is assembled with the tip portion to a unit, the pipette tip being placed in the receptacle with its tip portion projecting outwardly and the pipette tip being detachably connected with the case, an actuating device and an adjusting device coupled thereto which rests against the outside of the deformable portion to press or release the deformable portion and a work volume provided therein which is opened towards the tip opening according to an acuation of the actuating device, whereby the inner width of the undeformed deformable portion exceeds the inner width of the tip opening and that the adjusting device deforms the deformable portion about the whole deformation range of the work volume principally in transverse direction.

  • Patent number: 4999164
Abstract: A pipetting device comprises a retaining cone for holding a slip-on pipette tip and a piston chamber, which communicates with a passage of the retaining cone and contains a reciprocable piston, which acts on the pipette tip that has been fitted on the retaining cone. A filter is provided in the assembly and consists of an aerosol-retaining filter that is detachably mounted in a region which includes the lower end of the pipetting device (1), including the retaining cone (8), as well as the upper end portion of the pipette tip (10) below the retaining cone. The filter may be designed in various ways and may have a progressive filter action. The filter may be arranged in the lower end portion of the retaining cone (8) or in the pipette tip (10) or in an interposed member.

  • Patent number: 4560269
Abstract: A cell for mixing operations and for optical examinations of liquids has a measuring region which has a small cubic capacity and a relatively large height. In a horizontal cross-section that measuring region has curved transitional wall portions between parallel end wall portions for receiving incident radiation and side walls. In the measuring region, the side walls have inwardly curved portions, which protrude inwardly to such an extent that in a transverse sectional view a tangent to the apex of each inwardly curved portion intersects the parallel end wall portions at an edge thereof or at a point which is inwardly spaced from said edge so that a double-tapered beam of measuring radiation will be closely approached by the inwardly curved side wall portion. At least one side wall portion may constitute a positive lens.

  • Patent number: 4406170
Abstract: A repeating pipetting device includes an elongated housing, a flange holder at one end of the housing for holding the flange of a syringe, a coupling assembly for connection to the plunger of the syringe, and a toothed rack connected to the coupling assembly and longitudinally reciprocable relative to the flange holder. A pawl is engageable with the teeth of the rack and is operable to advance the rack toward the flange holder in a succession of steps. An operating lever movable back and forth in the elongated direction of the housing, intermittently operates the pawl, and a return lever retracts the rack from the flange holder. A tongue-like cover or slide is provided within the device and covers the rack for a part of its length. The cover is slidably adjustable along the rack and has a portion engageable by the pawl which limits the extent to which the rack can be advanced by the pawl in each step.
