  • Publication number: 20210291201
Abstract: A method for fixing a metal sheet serving as a filter element or the like to the inner peripheral wall of a filter device is disclosed. The metal sheet is arranged in a round shape, optionally with overlapping axial edge regions, on the inner peripheral wall of the housing of the filter device and is pressed against the peripheral wall of the housing with the aid of an expansion device. The disclosure further relates to a filter device produced in this way and to the expansion device used to carry out such a method.

  • Publication number: 20120211404
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for recovering spent machining slurries and to an apparatus for carrying out the method. The spent machining slurry that contains a machining medium, a carrier fluid for the machining medium, material stemming from the machined articles, particles stemming from the machining tools and optionally additives, is recovered by centrifugation in the undiluted state, thereby allowing an especially effective recovery according to materials and without much effort. The used apparatus is characterized in that it comprises a centrifuge having a suspended centrifugal drum or a stationary centrifuge having a floating centrifuging drum.

  • Patent number: 7033311
Abstract: A centrifuge having a drum rotatable in a predetermined direction about a drum axis has a cleaning device with a cleaning shaft extending generally parallel to the drum axis into the drum along a shaft axis. A pair of elongated slat-shaped cutters have inner ends fixed on the shaft, outer ends, and project radially outward of the shaft axis from the shaft. The inner ends are separated by a relatively narrow space, and the cutters diverge from their inner ends toward their outer ends. The shaft can be moved such that the cutters are displaced between a standby position offset from the drum and a cleaning position closely juxtaposed therewith. A cleaning liquid is fed to each cutter such that it flows along the cutters.

  • Publication number: 20040259711
Abstract: Disclosed is a wet classification device in the form of a centrifuge provided with a stationary outer housing, a centrifugal drum arranged in the outer housing, a device for cleaning sediment deposited on the wall of the centrifugal drum, and inlets and outlets. The cleaning device comprises a shaft which extends into the centrifugal drum and has cutting devices arranged on the periphery thereof, in addition to a device for introducing a dispersing fluid in the centrifugal drum. The cutting devices are configured and arranged in such a way that turbulence can be created in the infed dispersing fluid, thereby resulting in a wash-out effect with respect to the sediment cake and facilitating the removal thereof.

  • Patent number: 5194146
Abstract: A drum centrifuge has a housing, a drum in the housing, an axially extending outer foraminous side wall in the interior of the drum forming an outer chamber, and a transversely extending foraminous end wall in the drum forming a bypass chamber radially inward of the outer chamber. A suspension is fed to the interior of the drum while same is rotating so that the suspension is thrown centrifugally against the outer wall and separates into a radially outer body of filter cake having an inner surface and a radially inner body of liquid sitting on the inner surface. A drainage chamber is formed at the end wall and a drain passage extends between the drainage chamber and the outer chamber while a bypass passage extends between the drain chamber and the bypass chamber.

  • Patent number: 5091084
Abstract: A filter apparatus has a drum rotatable about an axis and having a foraminous outer wall with an inner surface, a support screen lying directly on the inner surface, a filter mesh lying directly on the support screen, and a protective screen lying on the filter mesh and holding same against the support screen. The support screen and mesh are held in place by a retaining seal having at least two lips defining at least one recess snugly receiving the edges of the support screen and mesh with one the lips between the support screen and the drum inner surface. The protective screen lies on the other lip of the seal and presses the seal against the surface of the drum while clamping the edges in the recess.

  • Patent number: 5066271
Abstract: A centrifuge has a generlly stationary and closed housing, a drum rotatable in the housing about a drum axis and having an end wall and an outer drum wall, a blade extending generally axially in the housing generally parallel to the drum wall, and a blade holder having an inner end carrying the blade and an outer end projecting through the housing end wall out of the housing. Seals snugly engaged between the outer end and the housing hermetically seal the housing around the holder and a guide fixed on the end wall supports the outer holder end on the housing for sliding movement of the holder and blade on the housing in an adjustment direction generally radial of the drum axis. An actuator engaged between the housing and the outer holder end displaces the holder and blade in the adjustment direction relative to the housing.
