  • Patent number: 11935064
Abstract: Authenticating a secure element payment card includes transmitting a cold reset signal to the payment card and receiving an answer-to-reset message therefrom. The answer-to-reset message includes governing rules for performing a transaction, including a rule indicating that a secure data element is to be used to authenticate the payment card. The process also includes receiving payment account details for a payment account associated with the payment card. A payment authorization request message is transmitted to an interchange network and a card authentication request message is then received from the interchange network. The card authentication request message includes an encrypted instruction, which is transmitted to the secure element payment card. The secure data element is received from the payment card and a card authentication request response message is then transmitted to the interchange network. A payment authorization request response message is then received from the interchange network.

  • Patent number: 11803858
Abstract: The disclosure includes systems and methods for disabling a payment function of a transaction card. The system receives payment account data from a transaction card and transmits a payment authorization request message to a card issuer associated with the transaction card. The system receives, from the card issuer, an authorization request response message. The authorization request response message declines the transaction and includes a status response code corresponding to a status of the transaction card. The system determines whether the status response code indicates that the transaction card is to be captured, and if so, disables the payment function of the transaction card via activation of a disabling system.

  • Publication number: 20210248600
Abstract: The disclosure includes systems and methods for authenticating a user with a one-time password having a one-time password offset parameter. The system receives a transaction authorization request message that includes a payment card identifier. A database is searched using the payment card identifier. The system retrieves contact details for a cardholder from the database. The system generates a one-time password and transmits the generated one-time password to the cardholder using the contact details. The system also receives a calculated one-time password response from the cardholder. The system retrieves a rule for producing the calculated one-time password response and a one-time password offset parameter from the database. A test one-time password is produced from the one-time password offset parameter based on the retrieved rule. The calculated one-time password response is compared to the test one-time password, and the calculated one-time password response value is authenticated based on a match.

  • Publication number: 20210233088
Abstract: A token/alert service system has a database and server. The server is programed to receive a transaction message from a merchant. The message corresponds to a transaction associated with a payment card of a consumer. The server determines whether the message is an authorization request message and, based on the determination that the electronic transaction message is an authorization request message, extracts the primary account number from the message. The server transmits a transaction alert message to the consumer. The alert message includes a request that the consumer respond to the alert message approving or rejecting the transaction. The server receives a response from the consumer and, if the response approves the transaction, transmits a token request message to a card issuer of the payment card. The server generates a token, transmits the token to the merchant, and receives from the merchant, a second authorization request message using the token.
