  • Publication number: 20200397103
Abstract: A free arm standing parasol comprises a mast, on which an arm with its end of the arm facing towards mast is guided extendably and retractably via a mast slide and is thereby held by a supporting element between the arm and mast while the end of the arm facing away from the mast carries a parasol part with a crown, the parasol part comprising main struts which are radially hinged to the crown and associated supporting struts which are hinged to a corresponding main strut and a parasol slider. The parasol part is connected, via actuating organs, to a drive unit at the mast, a first actuating organ being connected to the mast slide via first deflection rollers for moving the mast slide up and down across a first functional distance, and a second actuating organ being coupled to the actuating organ via an action coupling and being connected to the parasol slider via second deflection rollers for moving the parasol slider across a second functional distance.

  • Publication number: 20160289997
Abstract: In a protection roof, particularly a sun and weather protection roof, it s aimed to ensure that the roof when not in use can be packed together in a compact manner within the outline of the opened roof by effecting a closing movement, whereby the fabric sheet can be folded with parallel folding lines, and to furthermore allow actuating the hinge also when the roof is in a folded state. To this end, it is proposed that the support rod (22) is disposed rotatably and slidably, but also lockably, within a mount (20) comprising a hinge on the standing rod (4). Moreover, the tensioning struts (26, 26a) are articulately attached pairwise with one end thereof to a slide (28) and carry the flexible protecting surface (32) at their outer end. Supporting struts (24, 24a) are articulately attached to a central portion of the tensioning struts (26, 26a) and to the ends (22a) of the support rod.

  • Publication number: 20140332043
Abstract: In order to provide a large parasol (2) with an improved binding system wherein the large parasol in its dosed state can be wrapped with preferably one or with several tying straps (1) in a spiral-like manner (3, 3) and wherein in the opened state of the parasol (2) a standby state of the one or several tying straps (1) is provided in such manner that the tying straps each are fixed with an end thereof to an upper attachment point (A, A?) at a canopy strut (5, 5?) of the parasol (2) and are releasably attached to a lower attachment point (B, B?) at the said canopy strut (5) so that also short statured persons are able to bind the parasol conveniently and correctly and that no wind damage occurs, it is proposed that between the upper and the lower attachment point (A, A?; B, B?) there is provided on one of the canopy struts (5, 5?) a further, middle attachment point (C, C?). The latter is configured as a damping means for the spirally wrapped tying straps (1) is in the dosed state of the parasol.

  • Patent number: 7398790
Abstract: The invention relates to an extension arm (6) that is arranged on a carrier (4) in such a way that it can pivot about the axis (18) thereof by means of a steering rod (20), and can be blocked in the pivoted position. Said steering rod (20) is arranged on a sleeve (44) that can be pivoted about the extension arm (6), can engage with the extension arm in different rotational angle positions, and can be directly or indirectly blocked on the carrier. According to the invention, a first coupling part (40) fixed to the extension arm (6) co-operates with a second coupling part (42) arranged on the sleeve (44) and acting in the axial direction. Furthermore, the steering rod (20) comprises a supporting element (56) that co-operates with a counterpart (58) arranged on the extension arm (6), in order to displace the second coupling part (42) in the axial direction by means of the steering rod (20). In this way, the extension arm can be pivoted and blocked in a simple manner with one hand.

  • Patent number: 7249753
Abstract: Disclosed is a winch, particularly for driving an umbrella, comprising a rope drum (48a) which is driven by a hand crank (24) and winds up a rope (28). Functioning of the winch is improved by the fact that said winch is provided with a feeler (100) which responds to the direction of entry of the rope when the rope (28) is fully unwound or to the winding of the rope onto the rope drum (48a). Said feeler (100) is connected to a locking member (102) that cooperates with a stop (104) if winding occurs in the wrong direction, said stop (104) being assigned to the rope drum (48a) and locking the wrong winding direction.

  • Patent number: 5785069
Abstract: A standing umbrella has a mast on which the inner end of an outwardly and inwardly movable carrier beam is guided with the outer end of the beam carrying an umbrella stick of a collapsible umbrella and with the carrier beam being held by a connecting strut linkedly arranged between the upper end of the mast the carrier beam. A drive mechanism shifts the inner end of the carrier beam along the length of the mast and the mast has two guide tracks spaced from one another and so profiled that guide elements running there along and carried by the inner end of the mast are held by the shape of the tracks against movement transversely to the direction in which the inner end of the carrier beam is shifted; and the drive mechanism for shifting the inner end of the carrier beam and a drive mechanism for opening and closing the umbrella are so combined with one another that they operate simultaneously in common.
