    Abstract: With a method and apparatus for the percussive cleaning of objects disposed in a chamber that is under process pressure, whereby an elongated percussive element is held below and in contact with the object that is to be cleaned and percussive energy is applied to the percussive element via an accelerated elongated striker, it is provided for a more simple pressure balancing that at least during the acceleration of the striker, the two ends of the striker be maintained at the same pressure, which essentially corresponds to the pressure in the process chamber.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for mechanically controlling the flame cutting and/or connection welding of workpieces. The difficulty encountered during the mechanized burning of holes in vessels, containers or tanks and the welding of connecting members into these holes is that the cutting and welding apparatus need to be guided in such a way that not only do they not contact the surface of the vessel, container or tank, but they are also kept a fixed distance from this surface. Therefore, control of the cutting and/or welding process is effected in conformity with the actual dimensions of the workpiece that is being worked on. In particular, this control is undertaken in conformity with the circumferential line of the hole for a given connecting member, and also in conformity with the curved surface of the vessel, container or tank. The peripheral line of the connecting member is first sensed and is graphically or electromagnetically recorded.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for rolling tubes into tube plates, especially heat exchangers, with a tube roller. Prior to the rolling process, the desired holding expansion value is set, and during the rolling process the holding expansion is measured. When the preset expansion value is reached, the expansion is discontinued. The magnitude of the holding expansion is determined by ultrasonically measuring the changing thickness of the wall of the tube during the expansion. The apparatus includes a tube roller that is operated by a drive mechanism. Also provided is a roll controller that can be set to the desired holding expansion value. An ultrasonic measuring head is provided in the tube roller, and is connected with the roll controller.

    Abstract: A heat exchanger for heat exchange between a hot gas and a flowing medium that is conveyed in tube bundle heat transfer surfaces, especially a steam generator. The heat exchanger includes a pressure tank, the heat exchanger vessel in which are disposed tube bundles, and a hot gas conduit that is connected with a gas inlet of the heat exchanger wall. Also included are a gas guidance tube, a gas outlet to a circulation fan, and inlets and outlets for the flowing medium. The gas guiding tube opens into the heat exchanger from the side, and an annular channel is disposed after the gas inlet in the heat exchanger wall. The annular channel is delimited inwardly by a riser that forms the gas outlet and is disposed concentrically relative to the walls of the pressure tank and the heat exchanger. The gas from this annular chamber enters the tube bundles and, after being deflected, enters the riser that leads to the circulation fan.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus including a connection element for transfer of knock- or impact-beating energy from a mechanically, hydraulically or pneumatically driven knock- or impact-beating device upon heating or cooling surfaces to be cleaned intermittently. The heating or cooling surfaces are installed in a container or vessel driven and operated on the gas side at an elevated pressure compared with respect to the atmospheric environmental pressure. The heating or cooling surfaces have external flow of hot, dust-laden gases thereagainst. The knock- or impact-beating device is fastened externally of the pressure container.
