  • Patent number: 9867325
Abstract: A steering system for a work vehicle includes a steering hand pump, a hydraulic main supply line fluidly coupled with the steering hand pump and including a check valve, and a normally open, two position valve. The valve includes an inlet fluidly couplable with a pressurized access point of a hydraulic sub-system, an outlet fluidly coupled with the main supply line on a downstream side of the check valve, and a pilot port fluidly coupled with the main supply line on an upstream side of the check valve. The valve is operable in the closed position based on pressure in the main supply line when the main supply line is pressurized from a pressure source, and operable in the open position and interconnecting the pressurized access point with the main supply line through the outlet when the main supply line is not pressurized from the pressure source.

  • Patent number: 9487075
Abstract: A work vehicle equipped with a main engine, a main engine gearbox and a main engine cooling circuit for circulating an engine coolant, the cooling circuit comprising at least one sub-portion comprising a radiator for heating the driver's cabin of the work vehicle. A heat exchanger is configured for heat exchange between said engine coolant and a lubricant flowing in a circuit into and out of a gearbox other than the engine gearbox. This latter gearbox can be the traction gearbox driven by a hydrostatic motor that is in turn powered by main-engine driven pump. The traction gearbox oil is then cooled by the engine coolant when the temperature difference between the engine coolant and the traction gearbox oil is higher than when the work vehicle is in active operation in the field.

  • Patent number: 7979187
Abstract: A method for coupling a load to a power source by means of a clutch, the method having the steps of initially increasing the pressure of the actuator to bring the pressure plates of the clutch into contact with the clutch plates gradually increasing the pressure of the actuator even further to allow the clutch plates to be engaged with the pressure plates while decreasing at least ones the pressure during a short time to create pressure dips such that the torque generated over the load is at least temporarily decreased, and levelling the pressure of the actuator to maintain the engagement of the pressure plates with the clutch plates to allow the load to be driven by the power source.

  • Patent number: 6425232
Abstract: A forage harvester and a method of operating the same which comprises a crop processor unit located in a crop flow between a cutterhead and a blower rotor, the crop processor unit being for handling crop material including kernels, the crop processor comprising a pair of counter-rotating processor rolls arranged to crack kernels between the rolls when the rolls are in a first position, both processor rolls being movable away from each other to move each roll substantially out of the crop flow into a second position. A cover plate is preferably arranged to move and cover the lower roll when the rolls are in a second position and to isolate the lower roll from the crop flow. The processor rolls are preferably driven by independent drives. One of the drives can be a hydraulic motor supplied with pressure from a hydraulic pump which can also work as a motor. When used as a motor the cutterhead may be driven in the reverse direction for maintenance purposes.

  • Patent number: 5527218
Abstract: An agricultural harvesting machine, such as a forage harvester, comprises a plurality of crop processing means (20, 21, 26, 27, 36,38, 49), which are driven in a first sense by an engine (70) through a main clutch (124) and a first drive line portion (111, 112, 39, 87, 89) or a second drive line portion (73, 75, 77, 80, 81, 83). A motor means (110), coupled to the first drive line portion and operable to drive one of the crop processing means, such as a cutterhead (36), in a second sense, opposite to the first sense, is permanently coupled to said first drive line portion, so that during normal harvesting it can provide driving power to auxiliary devices. The second drive line portion is linked to the first drive line portion by means of a belt transmission (95, 99, 100), which is engaged by a hydraulic cylinder (106) when the main clutch (124) is engaged. The first drive line comprises an overrun clutch (87) which is disengaged when the rotation of the cutterhead (36) is reversed by the motor means (110).

  • Patent number: 5488817
Abstract: A self-propelled agricultural harvesting machine (1) is provided with a single channel network (300) for serial communication of digital data messages between programmable microprocessors (215, 218) in a multi-master configuration. The messages are encoded according to an advanced serial communications protocol and are available to all microprocessors (215, 218). The network comprises an optical transmission network with an active starpoint (230) and plastic optical fibres (231), which link the nodes which lay physically far away from each other. An RS232 socket, which is linked to the network (300), enables loading of data and programs to the microprocessors (215, 218). Thus is obtained a reliable and flexible control system for the machine settings, which comprise on-road and off-road (harvesting) parameters. The introduction of a wide range of automatic control routines simplifies to a large extent the tasks of the operator during operation.
