    Abstract: The machine comprises an elongate frame (1), on which is mounted a carriage (3) carrying a driving pulley (9) and an idle pulley (11), on which an abrasive cable (12) is wound. The length of the loop of cable or wire (12) formed between the carriage and the material to be cut can be changed by means of the number of winding turns of the cable or wire round the pulleys.
