The defrosting method includes performing a warm water supply operation upon receiving a defrost command from a user; performing a water discharge operation; performing a heating operation if a water level has not yet decreased; and performing an additional water discharge operation. Therefore, it is possible to easily and quickly defrost a drum-type washing machine without the need to pour boiling water into the drum-type washing machine.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a washing machine having legs at a base to adjust the height thereof. The washing machine includes a base, a plurality of legs, and an over-unscrewed prevention member. The base is formed at a bottom of the washing machine. The legs are disposed at the base and each having a bolt unit that is height-adjustably assembled at the base. The over-unscrewed prevention member is disposed at the bolt unit of each leg and caught by the base when the legs are unscrewed so as to set a maximum unscrew height of the legs.

In the operating method of the washing machine, it is determined whether a washing machine has a regular laundry load or a single laundry load based on the amount of laundry and the number of times of detection of the amount of laundry. Therefore, it is possible to precisely determine the laundry load of a washing machine, reduce the time taken to determine the laundry load of a washing machine, and prevent a washing machine from being damaged by a misreading of the laundry load of a washing machine.

Abstract: A laundry treatment apparatus according to the present invention includes a condensing pool disposed within a water supply port formed in a tub. A water supply passage is formed between the condensing pool and the water supply port. The laundry treatment apparatus further includes a cap that guides water, which is supplied to the water supply port, to the condensing pool, and stops steam flowing backward through the water supply passage so that the steam is introduced into the condensing pool. The steam flowing backward from the inside of the tub to the water supply port of the tub is brought into contact into with the water contained in the condensing pool formed in the water supply port of the tub and is condensed. Therefore, the present invention is advantageous in that it can prevent the pollution of a detergent holder or peripheral portions thereof, which may occur when the steam flows backward into the detergent holder or peripheral portions thereof via the water supply port of the tub.

Abstract: An automatic height adjustment leg of a laundry handling apparatus according to the present invention comprises a cylinder mounted to a base of a laundry handling apparatus; a piston movably arranged inside the cylinder; a elastic member installed in the cylinder so as to elastically support the piston; and a leg penetrating the cylinder and fixed to the piston. There are provided advantages that the horizontality of the laundry handling apparatus may be automatically adjusted as the piston and leg move on and vibration may be absorbed and reduced by the elastic member.

The dispenser has a recess for seating the stopper therein as the detergent box is placed in the dispenser. The rib provides an elastic force to the stopper. For providing a comparatively soft elastic force, the rib has an elastic slot.

The lather backflow preventive structure is positioned between the tub and the detergent box, and prevents lather or vapor from flowing back. Abstract: Disclosed herein is a leveling pedestal usable with a washing machine. The leveling pedestal includes a plurality of pedestal sections configured to place the washing machine thereon. The plurality of pedestal sections are connected to each other to adjust the overall length of the leveling pedestal depending on the size of the washing machine or a distance between a plurality of legs of the washing machine. With such a length adjustable configuration, the leveling pedestal is recyclable so as to correspond to different washing machine sizes, achieving commonality in use.
