  • Patent number: 11985990
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of maintaining corn protein yield during extraction and managing stickiness and viscosity comprising obtaining a corn material having a corn protein content and washing the corn material to remove non-protein components with an ethanol-water solvent comprising at least 85 wt % ethanol to obtain a corn protein isolate, wherein the loss of corn protein content during extraction is less than 10% of total corn protein.

  • Publication number: 20220312807
Abstract: Described herein is a corn protein product comprising greater than about 20% corn protein on a dry weight basis and a free sulfite concentration of less than 150 ppm on an as-is basis. Also disclosed herein is a method to obtain this corn protein product including the steps of providing a protein-rich stream derived from a wet corn milling operation, wherein the protein-rich stream comprises greater than 20% corn protein on a dry weight basis, and treating the protein-rich stream with an oxidant, preferably hydrogen peroxide.

  • Publication number: 20210204566
Abstract: The present invention relates to animal feed ingredients and products, methods of producing such ingredients and products, and feed diets containing such ingredients and products. In one aspect, the present invention relates to a fermented vegetable protein (FVP) ingredient or product. Accordingly, the feed ingredient or product of the present invention can include one or more organic acids and is rich in amino acids. In one aspect, the feed ingredient can be produced using a fermentation process, for example through the fermentation of a corn mill stream such as light steep water. In one aspect, the present invention relates to feed products combining the feed ingredient with other components. The feed ingredients and products described herein are particularly useful for aquaculture, such as fanned shrimp.

  • Patent number: 9538777
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for separating and removing aflatoxin-contaminated corn from batches of corn by a floating process, thus producing a distinguishable floating mat of contaminated corn and a separate submerged bed of uncontaminated and less contaminated corn. The methods of this disclosure include removing the floating contaminated corn mat by a vacuum mechanism or by liquid flow. The methods reduce the aflatoxin level in the submerged corn bed as much as 80% from the initial aflatoxin level, while removing no more than 15% from the batch of corn.
