The image providing method includes: transmitting, to an external device, a first video image of a first resolution, which is converted from an original video image of an original resolution; receiving, from the external device, area information about an area of interest of the first video image of the first resolution; determining, based on the area information, an area corresponding to the area of interest, of the original video image of the original resolution, wherein the determined area is smaller than the original video image of the original resolution converting a part of the original video image of the original resolution to a second video image of the first resolution, wherein the part corresponds to the determined area; and transmitting the second video image to the external device.

Abstract: A method for allocating an identifier (ID) of a software component is disclosed. The method includes generating information on software components by a Device Management (DM) server, generating a download package including the information on software components by the DM server, transmitting the download package from the DM server to a DM client, executing the download package by the DM client, and allocating an ID to each software component based on the information on software components if the download package is executed by the DM client.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting compressed video content are provided. The method includes transmitting a codec selection request frame, the codec selection request frame including an identifier of one or more codecs to be used to compress video content and requesting approval of the use of the codec, receiving a codec selection response frame, the codec selection response frame including result information indicating whether the use of the codec is approved, and transmitting video content frames for the video content compressed by the approved codec based on the codec selection response frame. Each video content frame includes frame type information indicating a type of compression applied to the video content included in the video content frame.

Abstract: A wireless power transmitter, a wireless power receiver, and methods of controlling the same are provided. A method of detecting a rogue device other than a wireless power receiver in the wireless power transmitter includes receiving power consumption information about the wireless power receiver from the wireless power receiver, calculating a power loss based on the received power consumption information about the wireless power receiver, determining whether the power loss exceeds a threshold, and controlling transmission power of the wireless power transmitter, determining that a rogue device exists on the wireless power transmitter, if the power loss exceeds the threshold.

Abstract: A method capable of searching for a surrounding device based on a desired service is provided. The method includes transmitting a service search request including information regarding a target service to nearby devices; receiving a service search response from the nearby device supporting the target service; analyzing service information of the nearby device supporting the target service, which is included in the service search response; selecting the nearby device supporting the target service based on a result of the analyzed service information; and performing the target service by establishing a session with the selected device.

Abstract: A method of performing hand-over in a personal basic service set (PBSS) including a plurality of stations and one coordinator is provided. An association request frame comprising PCP capability information, and requesting to associate to the PBSS, is received from each of the stations. The PCP capability information comprises information regarding at least one of whether each of the stations supports a power source capability of continuous power supply, whether each of the stations supports a channel time allocation function, and whether each of the stations supports a network clustering function. An association response frame, indicating whether the association request received from each of the stations is approved, is transmitted to each of the stations, and a priority to be a coordinator of the stations is determined based on the PCP capability information. Hand-over is performed with one of the stations according to the determined priority.

Abstract: Provided is a method for enabling a capability of a terminal in a device management system including a server capable of at least one of enabling and disabling capabilities of the terminal. The method includes the step of determining if a condition has been met for requesting enablement of a disabled capability of the terminal. The method further includes the step of transmitting a request message to the server including information related to the condition being met, based on a determination that the condition has been met. The method further includes the step of receiving a control command for the disabled capability from the server to process the control command.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for device management security, and more particularly to a system and method for device management security of a trap management object (Trap MO), which can prevent a non-authorized device management server from indirectly controlling device management of a mobile terminal through use of the Trap MO defined in Open Mobile Alliance Device Management (OMA DM). To this end, when a DM client receives a request to register a notification target MO as a recipient node registration from a DM server, the DM client determines if the DM server has authority for both addition and execution and allows only an authorized DM server to register a recipient node in the Trap MO, so that only a DM server having authority for execution of an MO can execute the MO and control the device management of a mobile terminal. Accordingly, it is possible to enhance device management security of the mobile terminal against non-authorized DM servers.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing a video frame is provided. The method includes dividing the video frame into pixel blocks each including a reference pixel; calculating difference values between the reference pixel and pixels neighboring the reference pixel; converting the calculated difference values into values that belong to a bit depth range; and performing entropy coding by using the converted difference values as symbols.
