Abstract: An access point apparatus, a control apparatus and a method are defined for connecting a guest device to a wireless network according to a device provisioning protocol, DPP. A guest channel and an administrative channel are utilised in order to ensure separation of the wireless network, such that the guest device is never connected to the administrative channel. The administrative channel is used by the control apparatus to fetch guest connection information from the access point apparatus, which is then communicated to the guest device. The guest device then uses this information to facilitate the connection to the wireless network via the guest channel.

Abstract: Proposed concepts thus aim to provide schemes, solutions, concepts, designs, methods and systems pertaining to device provisioning protocol onboarding in wireless networks. In particular, the embodiment aims to reduce overall onboarding time for a plurality of enrollee devices by controlling enrollment of the enrollee devices based on the status (e.g. availability, readiness, workload, etc.) of the configurator device.
