  • Patent number: 4310273
Abstract: A novel fastener assembly is disclosed for use in securing a frame section to a composite panel or the like, said fastener assembly being dielectrically insulated from said frame section to prevent galvanic action. The fastener assembly is comprised of a bolt member adapted for engagement in a bore formed in said frame section, said bolt member having an enlarged head portion including annular axially facing groove means, and an annular axially extending non-conductive elastomeric gasket member disposed in said groove means, and a nut member having an enlarged head portion for engagement with said bolt member. The nut member is disposed in a coaxial bore formed in said composite panel and engaged with said bolt member also disposed in said bore. Upon assembly the gasket member is clamped between the frame and the enlarged head on the bolt and is deformed axially and radially.

  • Patent number: 4204566
Abstract: There is disclosed a fastener assembly comprised of a screw fastener member having a driver head, a threaded shank portion and an unthreaded shank portion intermediate the threaded shank portion and the driver head. The unthreaded shank portion also includes a protruding portion defining an effective diameter greater than the major diameter of the threaded portion. This portion is formed by rolling a groove into the unthreaded shank portion in such a manner as to provide an annular projection having a tapered surface portion. There is further included a helical compression spring member having at least one end portion formed to an inner diameter larger than the major thread diameter, but smaller than the diameter of the protruding portion of the unthreaded shank portion.

  • Patent number: 4146289
Abstract: There is disclosed a wire clamp assembly which includes a screw member and washer or clamping member in mounted relation on the screw member, and adapted to provide a terminal assembly for a terminal block or the like. The washer or clamping member comprises a generally rectangular plate-like washer having a central aperture, engageable by the screw member to be advanced downwardly for clamping a wire or wires against the surface of a terminal member. The surface of the washer member facing the terminal member surface includes two pairs of opposed ramps spaced apart from the central aperture and extending downwardly and diverging outwardly toward the outer periphery of the washer member. The same or undersurface of the washer further includes downwardly sloping corners defining sloping edge portions, for biting engagement with the wire to establish and maintain, together with the ramps, electrical and mechanical connection between the wire and the terminal member.

  • Patent number: 4033243
Abstract: There is disclosed a novel fastener assembly for use in attaching a composite panel section or the like to a frame section. The fastener assembly comprises a first member for engagement in a bore formed in said frame section, said member including an enlarged, tamper-proof head engaging the exterior surface of said frame section and means for preventing rotation relative to said frame section; and a second member engaged with said first member, said second member being disposed in a coaxial bore formed in said panel, and having an enlarged head for engagement with said panel, said head including drive tool engaging means. In addition, the aforementioned first member engaged with said frame section, includes seal means for attaining a water-tight joint when said respective head portions are brought into clamped engagement with said frame and panel sections.
