Abstract: A storage apparatus includes a first storage device to store data, a second storage device to store data identical to the data stored in the first storage device, a memory device to store a first threshold value which is set on basis of response times for accessing first plural sections of the first storage device, and a processor. The processor is configured to measure a first response time for reading data from the respective first plural sections. The processor is configured to read first data from the second storage device when a first target section of the first plural sections is detected. The first response time for reading data from the first target section is greater than the first threshold value. The first data is identical to data stored in the first target section. The processor is configured to write the first data to the first target section.

Abstract: In the method, lines are printed on a sheet using a head unit, the lines having a pitch larger than a printing width of the head unit, the printing width being a width along a first direction. In the method, using the head unit, a first part of a first line is printed on the sheet along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. A relative position of the head unit with reference to the sheet is moved along the first direction a distance equal to the printing width of the head unit. Using the head unit, a remaining part of the first line and at least a first part of a second line is printed on the sheet along the second direction. The relative position of the head unit with reference to the sheet is moved along the first direction a slight distance equal to or shorter than the printing width of the head unit. Using the head unit, a predetermined part of the second line is printed on the sheet along the second direction, the predetermined part including the first part of the second line.

Abstract: When the size of a printing paper is smaller than a half of the whole area used for expanding the printing data, a method and apparatus for controlling high speed printing in a printer device, having a bit-map memory, a data transfer circuit for transferring video data on the bit-map memory to a printer, and a copying unit for copying the dot-data within a rectangular region on the bit-map memory, include copying the dot-data expanded in a first area on the bit-map memory into a second area that does not overlap with the first area; and sending the dot-data to the printer, and simultaneously expanding the printing data of the next page in the first area. When the size of a printing paper is smaller than the whole area, the method and apparatus include copying the dot-data expanded in a first area on the bit-map memory into a second area that overlaps with the first area in one part; sending the dot-data to the printer; and expanding the printing data of the next page in the first area partially in parallel.
