  • Publication number: 20190013614
Abstract: A connector has parts that can be used in common as much as possible in different specifications to reduce cost and to facilitate parts management. In a first specification having a high shielding function, a terminal fitting (20) connected to a shielded electric wire (15) is accommodated in a dielectric (23). The dielectric (23) is surrounded by an outer conductor (40) that is connected to a braided wire (18). The second specification requires no shielding function, and thus the outer conductor (40) is not used. Rather, a sub-housing (70) having the same shape and size as the outer conductor (40) of the first specification is used. The sub-housing (70) is configured to accommodate and retain the terminal fitting (20) and is locked in a same retained state as in the first specification when accommodated in a common housing (10) used in both specifications.

  • Publication number: 20190013622
Abstract: An electrical connection device includes a first connector (C1) having a first housing (10), a second connector (C2) having a second housing (20) for receiving the insertion of the first housing (10), and a connection detecting tool (30). The first housing (10) includes a housing body (12), a lock (14) having a tool restraining portion (14d) and a displacement restricting portion (16) for blocking an insertion allowing displacement of the lock (14). The connection detecting tool (30) is held at an operating position to resiliently deform the displacement restricting portion (16) to allow the insertion allowing displacement. The tool restraining portion (14d) restrains the connection detecting tool (30) at the operating position so as not to be separable while allowing the separation of the connection detecting tool (30) from the operating position as the lock (14) resiliently returns to a lock position.

  • Patent number: 9922755
Abstract: In the process of mounting a joint terminal (5) into a first terminal accommodating portion (16) of a housing (15), tab terminals (6) of the joint terminal (5) move forward along tab entrance paths (26) formed in the housing (15). The tab entrance path (26) is formed with a cam portion (27) spiral about an axis thereof. As the tab terminal (6) moves forward in the tab entrance path (26), a follower portion (8) formed at an intermediate position of the tab terminal (6) is guided by the cam portion (27). Thus, the tab terminal (6) is twisted about an axis. In this way, resilient contact pieces (14) of female terminals (9A, 9B) face the tab terminals (6) in a plate surface direction of the tab terminals (6) and are connected to the tab terminals (6).
