  • Patent number: 8578440
Abstract: A video processing apparatus includes a conversion unit and a transmission unit, and an external device includes a reception unit and a restoration unit. The conversion unit converts one or a plurality of elementary streams complying with ISO/IEC 14496-1:1999 into one data stream. The data stream includes a plurality of multiplexed packets, each multiplexed packet including both a Synchronization Layer (SL) packet and an elementary stream identifier of the SL packet. The transmission unit transmits the data stream to the external device using an isochronous or bulk transfer. The reception unit receives, from the external device, the data stream that is transmitted using the isochronous or bulk transfer. The restoration unit restores the data stream to one or a plurality of elementary streams complying with ISO/IEC 14496-1:1999.

  • Patent number: 7865833
Abstract: This invention provides a data processing apparatus, data processing server, and data processing system, which can easily edit data by utilizing features of object-based coding, and can easily generate object-based encoded multimedia data. A multimedia edit & playback terminal (201) issues an edit instruction of multimedia data to a multimedia edit server (202) that edits multimedia data consisting of a plurality of object data. A communication client (214) receives layout information of multimedia data. A playback unit (212) displays the acquired layout information, and an edit designation unit (211) designates desired one of the displayed layout information. The designated layout information is output via the communication client (214).

  • Publication number: 20020167547
Abstract: This invention provides an object selection method which can easily select objects by simple, one-dimensional operations by sequentially changing an object to be selected in accordance with a given order or reference in response to a one-dimensional operation input from an operation input device, and an information processing apparatus that adopts the method. In an information processing apparatus for selecting an object set with an arbitrary function on a display screen, and executing the function, objects set with arbitrary functions are determined from multimedia contents encoded by object-based coding, the determined objects are controlled to be set in turn as an object to be selected by a pointer image by simple operation of a “next” or “back” button, and a process is executed by pressing an “OK” button.
