The propylene random copolymer of the invention includes a propylene component and an &agr;-olefin component having 4 to 10 carbon atoms, wherein the content of the &agr;-olefin component is in the range of about 6% to about 40% by weight, the intrinsic viscosity [&eegr;] measured in tetralin at 135° C. is not lower than about 0.45 dl/g and not higher than about 5.0 dl/g, and the melting point (Tm) measured by a differential scanning calorimeter and the content of 20° C. xylene soluble fraction (CSX) fulfill a relationship of Tm≦140−35.693 log10(CXS).

    Abstract: A polypropylene composition comprising a melt-kneaded polyprolylene composition obtained, using Zieglar-Natta catalyst, by polymerizing a monomer comprising propylene to form a polymer comprising polypropylene (component A) in amount of from 60 to 80% by weight to the total polymer amount in substantially the absence of an inert solvent in a 1st step and then polymerizing a mixture of ethylene content of from 20 to 50% by weight (component B) in a vapor phase to form an ethylene-propylene copolymer (component B) in amount of from 20 to 40% by weight to the total polymer amount in a 2nd step, said polypropylene composition being such that the intrinsic viscosity of component B ([.eta.]B) is at least 2.0 dl/g and the ratio ([.eta.]B/[.eta.]A) of the intrinsic viscosity of the component B to the intrinsic viscosity of the component A ([.eta.]A) is 1.8 or less and the melt flow rate of the polypropylene composition after melt-kneaded being 0.5 to 10 g/10 minutes.

    Abstract: A polypropylene resin composition for oriented film excellent in transparency, slip property and blocking resistance which comprises the following components (a) and (b), and an oriented film obtained by orienting the composition at least in uniaxial direction:(a) 100 parts by weight of a crystalline polypropylene resin, and(b) 0.05 or more but less than 1 part by weight of crosslinked polymer beads which have a weight average particle diameter of 0.5-5 .mu.m, comprise 60-96% by weight of styrenic monomer units, 2-38% by weight of radical-polymerizable monomer units, the refractive index of the polymer of the radical-polymerizable monomer being 1.50 or less, and 2-50% by weight of crosslinkable monomer units, and give an average protuberance height of 60-600 nm on the surface of oriented film obtained by kneading the crosslinked polymer beads into the polypropylene resin followed by working up into oriented film.

    Abstract: A laminated polypropylene film consisting of a crystalline polypropylene layer having laminated to at least one side thereof a copolymer layer, said copolymer being a random copolymer of propylene and an .alpha.-olefin having 4 or more carbon atoms or a random copolymer of propylene, an .alpha.-olefin having 4 or more carbon atoms and ethylene obtained by vapor phase polymerization in the substantial absence of a liquid medium and satisfying the following conditions (1) to (4):(1) the content of an .alpha.-olefin having 4 or more carbon atoms in the copolymer is 8 to 25 mole %,(2) the content of ethylene in the copolymer is 3 mole % or less,(3) the content of a cold xylene-soluble portion in the copolymer is 15 to 60% by weight, and(4) the content of a boiling n-heptane-insoluble portion in the copolymer is 7% by weight or more. Said laminated film has an excellent low-temperature heat-sealability, an excellent transparency, a low blocking and a good scratch resistance.

The packaging shrink film is soft and excels in low-temperature shrink characteristics as well as in transparency and gloss.
