  • Publication number: 20220091294
Abstract: An invention that relates to streamers is described. These streamers contain one or more streamer sections. These sections can have sensors, channels, and/or analogue arrays of sensors are disposed along its length. At least one of these streamer sections has a variable density of sensors, channels, and/or analogue arrays along the length.

  • Patent number: 9759828
Abstract: A technique includes receiving data acquired by a seismic sensor on a spread of at least one streamer. The data are indicative of a seismic source signature that is produced by a source seismic to penetrate into the Earth to acquire geophysical information in connection with a seismic survey. The technique includes processing the data to determine a position on the streamer relative to a reference position not disposed on the streamer.

  • Patent number: 9217797
Abstract: Systems, sensors, and methods for high-speed image monitoring of baseplate movement in a vibrator. The systems can include a baseplate defined by an area, disposable at a ground surface to direct a seismic force into the ground surface. The system can include a reaction mass coupled to and positioned above the baseplate to generate the seismic force at the baseplate. The system can include an actuator assembly coupled to the reaction mass to vibrate the reaction mass, as well as high-speed image units directed at the area of the baseplate. The high-speed image units can include photo detectors to sense a distribution of acceleration across the area of the baseplate, and a light source emit light to be sensed by the photo detectors. The system can also include a controller coupled to the actuator assembly, that drives the actuator assembly.

  • Patent number: 8780670
Abstract: An embodiment according to one or more aspects of the present disclosure for conducting a marine survey includes a survey spread comprising a plurality of receivers and an energy source that is towed along a selected course while a signal is emitted from an energy source. A plurality of receivers receive data comprising a detection sampling frequency and a survey sampling frequency. The survey sampling frequency is monitored to detect a cetacean vocalization and to position the cetacean at least while conducting the seismic survey. Pursuant to the location of the cetacean actions can be taken to protect the cetacean and to minimize disruptions in conducting the seismic survey.
