  • Patent number: 11854381
Abstract: A system including: a foot switch for controlling a medical device; and a receiver for the medical device to be controlled as components. Where the foot switch and the receiver are configured for wirelessly transmitting uniquely assignable control signals after completion of coupling at least from the foot switch to the receiver; one of the components comprises an NFC read module for reading out a transponder in a vicinity and an other component comprises the transponder that can be read out by the NFC read module; and the NFC read module is configured at least to initiate the coupling of the foot switch and the receiver on the basis of items of information read out from the transponder.

  • Publication number: 20070022331
Abstract: A single-ended Ethernet management system and method are provided. The system enables a user to provision and monitor an Ethernet interface, as well as to detect and isolate faults, from a single end. The method may be executed on the system to provide Ethernet services from a first end to a second end. After the Ethernet service is established, the method monitors the service from the first end to detect an occurrence of a fault and to identify service degradation issues. If a fault occurs, the method automatically executes a fault isolation procedure to isolate a location of the fault between the first and second ends. In addition, the method may categorize one or more potential causes for the fault based on fault location or type.
