The mobile device activates a manipulation unit upon detecting pressure through a pressure detecting unit. Accordingly, the user is able to manipulate various types of UIs, using a combination of pressure and various manipulation units.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus controls to sense a particular direction motion in directions detectable by a proximity sensor, which senses proximity and motion directions of a subject. Thus, a user can utilize the proximity sensor with decreased recognition error and a high recognition rate as a user interface of the electronic apparatus.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of inputting a user command is provided. The method includes displaying a navigation window including letter key symbols corresponding to keys on a manipulator. If a first user command as to a specific key on the manipulator is input, a specific letter key symbol on the navigation window corresponding to the specific key is activated, and if a second user command as to the specific key is input, the letter corresponding to the activated specific letter key symbol is input. Accordingly, even if the manipulator is separated from the display on which a result of the manipulator is displayed, the user can input a user command by looking at the display only.

Abstract: A method for operating a mobile terminal is disclosed. The mobile terminal includes a pressure sensor and an orientation sensor. While a pressure event is detected by the pressure sensor, functions related to content classification, content storage, content display, and menu navigation can be executed in response to a direction event detected by the orientation sensor. Hence, the mobile terminal is capable of operating in a dynamic and a flexible manner.

Abstract: A terminal having a camera and a method of processing an image in the camera are disclosed. The method includes collecting, using a camera, a user image captured at a user focal length and a link image captured at a selective focal length, and storing the user image and the link image by linking the link image with the user image. Using this method, a user can capture a subject and circumstances around the subject when the image is captured.

Abstract: An object execution method and apparatus is provided for executing an object based on an input pressure level with a haptic feedback indicative of an attribute of the object. An object execution apparatus may include a display unit, an input unit, and a control unit. The display unit may display at least one object. The input unit may detect a selection of an object and/or a pressure level input for executing the object. The control unit may check a reference pressure value preset for the selected object. The reference pressure value may be indicative of attribute information of the object. The control unit may compare an input pressure value of the pressure level input with the reference pressure value, and may determine whether to execute the object based on the comparison result. The input unit comprising a vibration generator may generate a vibration mapped to the reference pressure value.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of the present invention relate to a movement control method and system of a terminal input unit having a plurality of protrusions. Exemplary embodiments of the present invention disclose a process and an apparatus for controlling each protrusion so that the input unit forms interface modes used for a function control according to a user function of the terminal.

Therefore, it is possible to reduce the number of keys required to input characters, so an electronic device requiring character keys can be greatly reduced in size.

Abstract: An input method and apparatus for a device having a graphical user interface (GUI)-based display unit includes allocating at least one region for a plurality of input units disposed on the device, defining input types different from each other for the allocated region, and controlling menu displayed on the display unit according to a signal input in the allocated region based on the defined input types. According to the method and apparatus, the use method and layout of a physically fixed input apparatus can be flexibly changed, thereby increasing the use scope of input types. Also, by integrating navigation inputs, character inputs, and button inputs, efficiency of using the area of a mobile device increases.
