  • Patent number: 5488177
Abstract: A method is described for the preparation of solutions containing little or no water of tertiary alkyl hydroperoxides in inert solvents by dewatering with sulfuric acid, according to which one or more inert organic solvents are added to an aqueous solution as well as sulfuric acid in such amount and concentration that in the aqueous phase forming after the mixing followed by separation of the phases there is at least 49% of H.sub.2 SO.sub.4 and the water content in the organic phase amounts to no more than 2.5%.

  • Patent number: 4782189
Abstract: The invention provides an improvement for the continuous preparation of lauroyl peroxide in the absence of organic solvents from crude lauroyl chloride, aqueous sodium hydroxide solution and hydrogen peroxide by continuously adding the reaction components to a reaction stirrer vessel and carrying out the reaction with an average residence time of 15 to 30 minutes, the improvement comprising maintaining the temperature in the raction vessel between 0.degree. and 20.degree. C. by cooling, adding 1.0 to 3% by weight of hydrogen peroxide, referred to the total amount of the reaction mixture, and sodium hydroxide in such amount that the concentration thereof in the reaction mixture run off is 0.15 to 0.30N, withdrawing the reaction mixture from the reaction vessel and heating the reaction mixture by the addition of water of a temperature of from 70.degree. to 90.degree. C., to above the melting point of lauroyl peroxide, and separating off the molten lauroyl peroxide in a separator.

  • Patent number: 4751953
Abstract: A lateral pull roll-up blind includes a drive housing member which is provided with lateral connecting elements which are situated within the outline of the driving wheel. These connecting elements, as well as compatible connecting elements of a carrier are distributed along a distribution circle in a distributing pattern rendering multiple angular repositioning of the housing member relative to the carrier possible. Even the other end of the lateral pull roll-up blind and the corresponding carrier are constructed in the same manner. The housing member is provided with a hollow pin on which there is mounted a clamping winding spring, while an entraining disc serving for the rotational entrainment of the associated end of the take-up shaft is rotatably mounted in the pin of the housing member. The entraining disc is drivingly connected with the driving wheel through actuating portions of the clamping winding spring.

  • Patent number: 4535830
Abstract: One end of the retraction spring of a lateral-traction roller shade is fastened to an interior rod that is stationary once it has been installed. The other end of the spring is fastened to a carrier bushing that rotates on the interior rod. The shaft of the shade is attached to the bushing and one end of a retention and clamping spring that surrounds the rod is fastened inside the bushing in such a way that the spring will rotate along with it. The other end of the spring is positioned in the path traveled by a drive segment on a sheave when the shade is lowered and in front of a drive rib on the bushing that is also positioned in the path. The raising of the shade is thus facilitated by the retraction spring.

  • Patent number: 4370276
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for the continuous production of dialkylperoxydicarbonates of the general formula: ##STR1## in which R stands for the same or different, straight-chained, cyclic or branched alkyl radicals containing 6 to 18 carbon atoms, by the continuous reaction of a chloroformic acid ester of the general formula: ##STR2## wherein R has the above-given meanings, in an aqueous medium with hydrogen peroxide and an alkali metal hydroxide at a temperature of from -10.degree. C. to +50.degree. C. in at least two reaction zones connected in series and continuous isolation of the dialkylperoxydicarbonate formed from the solvent-free reaction mixture with the use of a centrifuge, wherein the reaction is carried out in the presence of a surfactant and the dialkylperoxydicarbonate formed is separated in molten form from the alkaline reaction mixture heated to or just above the melting temperature of the dialkylperoxydicarbonate.
