  • Patent number: 11639986
Abstract: An optical device is provided for a distance measurement device according to the LIDAR principle. At least one light source is provided, along with a first means of deflection that during operation of the device deflects light emitted by the at least one light source into a first angle range. A second means of deflection is also provided that during operation of the device deflects the light emitted from the first means of deflection into a second angle range which is larger than the first angle range. Finally, an optical means is provided that influences the light in such a way that it hits the second means of deflection as convergent light.

  • Publication number: 20230033314
Abstract: An automated driving function in a motor vehicle comprises: a processor circuit of the motor vehicle recognizes respective individual images of an environment of the motor vehicle from sensor data of a least one sensor of the motor vehicle by means of at least one object classifier. At least one relational classifier using the object data for at least some of the individual objects additionally recognizes a respective pairwise object relation with the aid of predetermined relation features of the individual objects in the respective individual image determined from the sensor data, which relation is described by relational data, and an aggregation module is used to aggregate the relational data throughout multiple consecutive individual images to produce aggregation data, which describe aggregated object relations.

  • Publication number: 20210109203
Abstract: A method and system for operating a LiDAR system for an environment detection in a field of view (FOV) of the system, wherein the following steps are performed: detection of at least one temperature measurement, which differs from a loading temperature in at least one light source of the system, estimation of the loading temperature based on the temperature measurement using an evaluation function, specification of an operating limit, which is specific for the maximum thermal load capacity of the light source, provision of a preset for at least one region of interest (ROI) in the field of view (FOV), adjustment of an operation of the system, and based on the preset for the region of interest (ROI) and the estimated loading temperature and the operating limit.
