  • Patent number: 4684951
Abstract: A process and apparatus for the day-or-night monitoring of weather phenomena by means of the analysis of the movements of air masses, wherein the movements are determined by monitoring and receiving the multi-band VLF electromagnetic radiation generated in the atmosphere with directionally selective receivers. The received frequencies are then compared with values which have been correlated with atmospheric events. Means are provided for displaying the predictive results for events occurring up to 500 km away from the VLF receivers--typically updatable within seconds--in at least two stages according to the (near or far) range desired or the type of electrical polarization.

  • Patent number: 4638877
Abstract: A vertical steering axle rigidly connected with a steering frame of a roller vehicle, for example of a vibratory tandem roller, is rotatably and axially slidingly mounted in a guide bushing pendulously connected to a vehicle frame. An elastomeric element between the vehicle frame and the steering axle is arranged coaxially to the steering axle above an upper end face thereof and, on one side, is non-rotatably connected with this upper end face.

  • Patent number: 4388867
Abstract: A combined proximity and impact fuse employed in a missile, including a circuit arrangement for avoiding the actuation of a detonation upon impingement of the impact fuse on a rain drop. The circuit arrangement is connected to the proximity fuse and is respective to the signals produced by the same to prevent the generation of a detonation signal upon impact until recognition by the proximity fuse that a given release criterion for impact detonation has been met.

  • Patent number: 4382408
Abstract: An impact fuze for barrel weapon ammunition of the type whose velocity of flight continuously decreases from the time of firing with increasing duration of flight, including a circuit arrangement for avoiding the actuation of a detonation when the impact sensor of the fuze impinges on a rain drop. The circuit arrangement is connected to the impact sensor to increase the detonation response sensitivity of the entire impact fuze during flight of the fuze.

  • Patent number: 4067244
Abstract: A vibratory plate includes a ground plate, a vibration generator adjacent the front of the ground plate and a motor driving the vibration generator. The ground plate includes a sole plate, an upwardly inclined portion at the rear of the sole plate, two successive upwardly inclined portions at the front of the sole plate and an upwardly and rearwardly inclined portion from the front of the ground plate to the casing of the vibration generator. Extending downwardly from the casing of the vibration generator to the ground plate are supporting ribs positioned in the planes of the bearings of the vibration generator. A transverse rib extends upwardly from the ground plate at the rear of the supporting ribs. The ground plate, the ribs and the casing are an integral unit. In one embodiment that unit is cast aluminum with a steel facing on the bottom of the sole plate. In a second embodiment they are fiberglass reinforced plastic with a steel facing on the bottom of the sole plate.
